Comments (26)That picture makes you smile. Buy the print you love and that fits your budget. Most folks don't have any original art unless they or a friend created it, but if/when you see original art you love in your budget, buy that. ETA: DH just came home and I showed him the picture. He just smiled and looked down. One of our dogs, who goes in our pool a lot and show shook off all over me yesterday afternoon, was lying near his feet. I would definitely hang that in a pool bath or kid's bath, utility room or mud room -- guest bath if it fits. I think you will enjoy it. You can get the stretched canvas and not frame it at all. I have done that and like the look for kid's rooms and casual spaces. It is also a way to hang the piece now and add a frame later if you prefer. And if you do frame it, you don't have to mat it, like you will have to do with a paper print (unless you float it in glass). Get the print first and then take it and try it with different frames. I think that image will look best with a very simple approach....See MoreLarge Wall art dilemma
Comments (49)I like the art and like the space but I think the aesthetics of each would be further enhanced if they were independent of each other. I would just get all or part of the painting group to paint one or more canvases scaled to size that include some lighter neutrals, and pass on the two larger boldly colored paintings to a space that has more of a Modern style and is better scaled to their size....See MoreWall art dilemma!
Comments (4)I would put artwork on the shorter wall with the doorway by the leather chair. You could use a set of 4 botanicals there. Then put art on the wall to the right of the window - but wait until you have the console there first to see what it looks like. You don't need art on the left side of the windows since your tall lamp is there. I would also remove the cream chair, which serves no purpose, and slide the shelving to the right about two feet. Then put the light on the other side of the shelves. When you look for a coffee table, the rectangular shape is good, but look for one with a little more depth....See Morekathleen MK
