Exterior Color Ideas with Red Brick??

Without painting over the red brick, we are looking to update this 1950's Red Brick Ranch. We would like to paint the foundation, cement around garage, siding, garage door, front door, trim, shutters, etc. We aren't sure if we want to keep shutters or just have the trim. We are thinking with going with a grey color scheme and dark blue slate for front door, but not sure if the foundation should match the siding and around the garage door or if the foundation should be different. Any suggestions or ideas would be awesome!!

These things jump out immediately:

1) Remove the shutters. Shutters vs Shudders

2) the foundation color needs to either be the same color as your brick or a darker shade of the brick.

3) the walkway is too narrow, it needs to be at least 42 inches wide, or even wider

4) Your home can use a new landscape plan with wider beds. Landscaping will be the very best thing you can do to amp up the exterior of your home IMO.

5) How is your roof? I don't know if it is worn or just discolored from debris.

I think a gray/green color would look great on your siding and garage. Or you could go with a deeper warmer gray. I like this green below with the brick. I would paint all of the siding and the concrete around the garage door including the garage the green you see below (or similar) and then go with your blue door.

If you decide to paint the siding the color of the brick, do be careful and try out some big sample boards. There are a few examples in my neighborhood of attempted matching that was "off", and it isn't a good look. Matching is challenging with the difference in textures between the brick and the siding.

I am a fan of brick houses, so I think I would lean toward trying to make the house look uniform on the brick side. Or I might do a taupe from the brick tones, on other part of house. I do also like the idea of a red garage. Or the taupe color with red garage doors.

The windows are not right for the shutters. I would remove them. Paint the trim a light tan. It really looks good with the color of your brick.

here are some suggestions for the house, below. Do you plan on doing any landscaping? That alone will add more than half to curb appeal. just redoing your path and flower beds would make a huge difference. here's a brick ranch like yours with nice curb appeal. at the very least, clean up the walkway edging and redo the flower beds. Have you thought about extending your front porch? You could do something similar to this or see how they did the porch addition onto this one? you don't have to do all of this, just the porch I love this one. the landscaping and the brick redo. ideas for the brick
