Wolf AG 36-Please Help! Should I change order to include griddle?
Comments (6)We have the 4 burner/griddle and find we use the griddle more often than we thought. You'll love the Wolf griddle...it's got a thicker plate and more even heat than many other brands. Makes the best pancakes. I recommend you go to a restaurants supply store and get the 3M professional griddle cleaner system. It's pretty inexpensive. Use the scrub pad...don't use the mesh, unless you want to strip it back down to bare stainless. You want to keep it seasoned and allow a nonstick patina to develop. Nothing has really ever stuck anyways. I find the easiest way to clean it is let it cool down to about 140-160 degrees, pour a little bit of water on it, then use paper towels to wipe the grease and food particles off. The hot water will dissolve most everything and the heat will leave it dry. If it's really dirty, you can use the 3M pad. After that step, use clean vegetable oil on a paper towel to do a final wipe of the surface. We have the stainless cover, and it allows you to use the griddle area for storage, holding cooking utensils, etc. We also use it to put the deep fat fryer when we use it so the fumes are taken up the hood....See MoreHelp! Should I change out my stainless steel apron sink?
Comments (2)I have a 33" Vigo ss apron sink. It's been installed for 8 months but we have only been in the house for 6 months. The outside of the sink looks as good as the day we got it. The inside does have scratches but that is to be expected. It is only dh and I, we don't have any children yet. I am pretty careful in the kitchen but Dh is not at all. I also found a thread in the metal working forum debating different ways of removing scratches from stainless steel. Of course everyone seemed to have a different opinion. Here is a link that might be useful: Thread on removing scratches...See MoreWhat should I keep; what should I change?
Comments (15)Update - so it's been a few months and a lot of work but some changes have been made. Two of the three trees down the left/driveway side have been moved to the rear. I opted to leave the third since the city-supplied Acer on the left is not doing well and will be removed shortly. The Nootka cypress near the front door has been replaced with a weeping "Viradis" Japanese maple. The bed around the front porch has been expanded to wrap around the porch and includes a purple fountain weeping beech, as well as more rhodos, hydrangeas, pennisetum, liatris and phlox sublata. I'm still working on filling in this space with more of the same. I took Yardvaark's suggestion and incorporated the Acer on the right into the bed close to it. I also added some festuca glauca and campanula carpatica to the bed. The Nootka cypresses in this bed are also stressed after a very hot summer (most of which was while the irrigation system was being put in) so I'm not sure if they will make it. Any replacement suggestions? I did get rid of one of the "mouse ears" by adding it to the corner bed. I still intend to change the other side but that may be next year's project since the landscaping budget is scraping the bottom of the barrel for now....See MoreWhite oak plank direction: should I mix directions?
Comments (34)Best installer in North Florida. Well known. He installs in million-dollar houses. He just installed an incredible floor in a sick house in the Bahamas, he has the pictures on Instagram. I got lucky a person canceled, he is booked until October. In this Covid situation for remodeling, zero problems to pay in advance. All the good installers are booked for months. As for the floor, I paid 13$/sqf plus shipping for Rift and Quartered, select, 8" wide, Bona finish, 4mm wear layer. If you find a cheaper white oak not coming from oversea then I give you a $100 gift card. As for a the install, I got 4 quotes, the cheaper was 22k, from a guy who looked so clumsy I would not even allow him to water my plants. Only plywood cost is 4k of material to get the wood subfloor level to the concrete slab in the addition. Glue is expensive. The house description with pics is linked above in the original post....See MoreJohnson Flooring Co Inc
