Need help with choosing backsplash for kitchen

We are remodeling our home because of flooding. Will have medium dark wood floors, white shaker cabinets, sea pearl quartzite on countertops, stainless appliances, and Sherwin Williams silvermist paint. Island is painted Sherwin Williams jasper stone with a walnut top. Would love to find just the perfect color and look for my backsplash. Would anyone have anything to suggest? Thanks so much.

With green walls and a green island, I'd start by looking at whites for the backsplash. You have flexibility with shapes.

There's no substitute for going out to the tile store themselves with your samples and seeing and handling the tiles in person. Post what you bring home.

We chose these 4x10 tiles, and used a medium gray grout (Delorean, premixed, from Lowes). We love the handmade look of the uneven (yet glossy-smooth) texture.

I have also been lurking here and absorbing lots of great advice. I'm very interested to hear suggestions on this, as we're also getting seafoam green granite. I was waiting for the cabinets to be done and granite installed before asking for suggestions as pictures definitely help. Our cabinets will be a medium tone stain. This granite is kind of "in between" as far as pattern goes. Not nearly as much movement as say, Bordeaux, but not evenly uniform, so you can't get too carried away with a fancy backsplash. I was thinking maybe matte subway tile, but wanted some sort of decorative element too. I love the look of glass tile, but it may not be right for a traditional kitchen. Meg, great seafoam slabs! Those are have really nice color and pattern.

But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! Use the counter top to inform the backs plash color. For example, pull one of the grays from the counter top and shop for solid color, simple glass bricks. Can either install them stacked (more modern) or traditional offset pattern. Once you have the tile chosen, then you can focus on paint colors to coordinate.

Just as the other comments above said, if you want backsplash you will have to remove that 4 inch granite, your countertop looks very similar to mine i had a very hard time choosing the backsplash because anything looked busy with my already busy countertop, my husband wanted 6x6 diagonal pinky beige travertine and that just looked awful so i ended up with a simple 3x6 subway from Jeffrey court called royal cream, its a very light cream and doesn’t have any pink undertone which you have to be very careful with as countertops with gold undertone look off with pink undertone backsplashes, even though my backsplash sometimes looks a little too light for my countertop i know i wouldn’t want anything gold as i have more than enough of it in my granite:) sometimes i dream about changing my countertops for a creamy white or very light solid beige quartz or quartzite but in the meantime i will work with what i have

If you are doing the green island and green walls, I would stick with a white tile for the backsplash. If you make your walls a more neutral gray (maybe with a slight green undertone (pulling color out of the quartzite) or white, then I would add some green in the backsplash.
