I would beware of true "turquoise" colors. They are just too strong and overwhelming. We used "Rainwashed" for dd's room and it is a great background accent. Her room is a color explosion but it still feels fresh and not overwhelming imho. She loves having all the colors since she's into art.

Mom2sulu, that’s beautiful color. I really like it. And beautiful room. That’s sort of the idea I am leaning towards.

Kathi- it’s not that I don’t like pink. It’s actually my favorite color as well as lavender. I love girly things! Some pale pink room looks nice, too. But I think a room can look pink without the walls being pink. I intend to let her pick her beddings. If she pick a pink set, her room will still look pink like she wants without the walls being pink. And I like that there can be a contrast. If walls AND beddings are both in the pink family, it can look monochromatic.

Also, I just asked her again what color she wants to paint her room, she looks at her walls and says "BLUE. I want to paint the walls blue." No, I didn't brainwash her. So, even though, she said pink previously, I knew she wasn't committed. She is 3, afterall, and 3 year olds tend to have different favorites depending on the moment. If she is insisting on a certain color, then sure, I would do it. But her wall color is definitely more important to me than to her.

If you are trying to 'curate' your homes spaces you might be better off to let her pick the wall colour even if it's pink lol If she picks the bedding you could end up with a Disney Frozen, Peppa Pig, Barbie, or Paw Patrol themed room. We let our kids pick the colours for their rooms and we lived through rainbows, Unicorns and Princess Castles, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Mickey Mouse sailors, Teenage Ninja Turtles ( yes sewer decor with faux bricks lol) and a baseball diamond complete with green carpet like Astroturf. None of these rooms would be featured in most "Houzz" homes but our kids are adults and still talk about how great their rooms were!

Millalm- yes!! She would love a Peppa Pig room. She would never come out.

Kids rooms should be their happy place. So what if it doesn't make a magazine.

And they are the first place that kids experience autonomy.

OP, since your daughter clearly has lots of colours that she likes, maybe it would be a good idea not to ask her what colour she wants (because it can be very invalidating to share our desires and have them overlooked; after all, she doesn't know she's going to change her mind tomorrow... ) and simply tell her "we're going to paint your pretty new room this colour. Which bedspread do you like better, A B or C?"

Thank you everyone for all your comments! I appreciate all of them. I am, however, starting to feel like there is a small tangent going into parenting advice territory and not decorating anymore. It’s not that bothersome to me, but I just want to address this, so we can go back to the original question, and just talk colors.

A simple semi gloss antique white paired with white furniture and pops of color in the bedding, art and accessory items always looks so darling to me in a little girls room it's always a nice classic option to fall back on I think.

We all know how 3 year olds think. taking them into a paint store and asking her to pick a color,,,,well,,,it's overwhelming. what if she picks neon orange? but then changes her mind after you start painting? giving her choices of 2,3, or 5, makes it much easier for their little brains to deal with. they like it, and they feel like they are in charge because, "they got to pick". She's 3, not 8. big diff.

But hey, by all means, do what you like. pick colors together and then get her a brush and little coveralls and let her help paint.

we aren't attacking her, her parenting skills or her choices. There are over 47 comments of colors, pictures, ideas. everyone has posted pinks, purples, whites,, all sorts of ideas w/room design, accessory designs, themes, etc. honestly, I'm confused as to what is needed. we started with pink, and everyone posted a bunch of pink ideas. now it went to blue, or peppa pig, and then someone else posted Rainwashed, which she likes. You and two others suggested white or neutral walls. so then lindsey wrote an opinion about perhaps letting her choose which bedspread she wants, and let mom choose the wall color, and that's when we went downhill. Sorry, but until mom decides and picks something, we can post pic after pic until the cows come home.

DL,,,would you like the comments here to just reflect posted pictures of little girls bedrooms? it seems that when anyone imparts their opinion, you get a little terse. Perhaps you could look through pages of pictures, pick out the ones you like best, or what you think your daughter would like, and then post those and ask, 'how can I achieve this look'"?

I'm sure I'll catch scorn for this comment, but it's the truth. Yes, I could scroll on by, but I already had an interest in this thread since I posted way back in the beginning w/the lavender suggestions (because she said she really didn't want a 'pink' room) .

Here is an idea I think is an excellent one for kids rooms. The rooms are painted neutral and the inside of the moulding is where all the action happens. I like this idea because as the child grows and their tastes change the area that needs to be painted or wallpapered is easily managed and changeable. The possibilities are limitless for that framed square footage of area. Wallpaper, bright colors (multi one in each moulding panel) chalk board paint.....you name it.

Pink, that's a good idea. mom could do the peppa pig poster or wall paper inside that, paint it pink or lavender, or blue, and then have the walls a neutral color. mom could tell daughter when you want to change your 'board' to something else, we can go pick out a new picture.

I mean if I was 3 I'd want a rainbow unicorn or rainbow my little pony pony room just sayin........and it could be adorable. Pearl walls framed with moulding and then bright pink in one, bright tangerine in another, bright green in one, yellow in one etc. It would be awesome! And then when she is a tween and wants every thing black and no pink , not even her clothes gasp you could just paint those insets black or wallpaper them with some boho chic etc. Manageable. No great expense at each change.

HIWE that Palace Pearl was recently suggested to me for my master bath. (may have even been you who suggested it LOL) and it is soooo pretty. It is the number 1 contender currently.

Pick 3 you can live with and let her pick it.

Based on what I see of it I love it. Ace hardware where we get our Ben Moore Paint here has been out of the chip. Ive yet to see it in person. But it looks so soothing and well anything blue or that leans to blue.....you know you had me at blue!

For a bathroom I like BM Gray tint...Palace Pearl ha a lot of color to it!

Blue though right HIWE? I was considering Naval so I do want color. I missed my cut off with the builder and they painted it Agreeable gray like the rest of my home.

I was looking for the Palace Pearl chip and I couldn't find it. Turned out I had glued it on my son's inspiration board. That one and a few others. This was before any of the suggestions on this thread. So, I actually thought it was better for his room. But it's not the top contender, so probably not.

For my daughter's room, I am starting to narrow things down. I'm leaning towards BM Constellation or BM Instinct. What do you guys think?

The bedding is yet to be decided (I know I'm working backwards). But I think both Constellation and Instinct can work with many different bedding colors and patterns.
