DD room going for a makeover: Help with paint? (pics)
Comments (20)I like the second one. It's a mix of the pink and the purple, softened with white to make it easier to live with. While I understand the theory of the yellow or the green, for a little girl, pink is IT! I would look for that grass green for more accents in green -- maybe find a similar polka dot ribbon and use it for tie-backs for the curtains, trim for a lamp or wastebasket. I can imagine green piping on a chair. Ooh, such fun! I like Pale Iris better than Beach Plum for your room. If you want to go just a tad pinker, without going to Bunny Nose Pink, take a look at BM Classic Colors Baby's Mittens #1368, another nice orchid pink, imo....See MoreRoom makeover. Need help
Comments (3)Hello Manon, When you say bohemian I think fabrics, juxtaposing, texture, nature and travels. So -in no particular order- a rug or 2 (layering them), a canopy above your bed, a wooden stool next to your bed as a night stand, a macrame wall hanging (if you're into DIY that's a cool project), white linen sheets and bedding with very colourful patterned pillows, plants plants plants, a variety of mirrors, pompoms and tassels, candles, a sheepskin (faux) on your desk chair, art and items evocative of travels and various cultures... To keep the 'chic' in all of this, try to stick to 3 colours that are repeated at least twice, to get a cohesive look. For example mostly white (canopy, macrame, sheets, sheepskin), blue as a secondary colour (rug, pillows, pompoms, accessories), and pink accents like your Bonheur pillow (other accessories, smaller decor). Does this inspire you? You can also have a look through Houzz photos of boho chic bedrooms Best, Mehdia...See MoreLiving room paint color for bohemian/global theme
Comments (19)The purpose of accent walls, IMO, is to provide interest where there is none architecturally. You appear to have architectural elements on all your walls, so I don't advise an accent wall. I think the room is choppy enough with all the elements, so it would get busy if you used two colors. If you want to start thinking about the adjoining dining room, a red-orange (half way between the yellow and violet blue om the color wheel) would work well. If is more of an appetite stimulating color and so is a good choice in dining rooms. The orange would look great next door to the violet blue....See Morelaundry room room makeover help
Comments (11)I think blush pink walls would look great with the neutrals you have in there. Consider adding some art on the walls and maybe a nice colorful rug too. I'm not a plant expert, but I imagine some low light loving plants could survive without a window (at least for some time) and would bring in some color and life to the room. Plus green looks great with blush pink....See Moretorreykm
