Smelly dog ears
Comments (13)If the ear has a bad aroma, don't assume it's just dirty. You just really hit the nail on the head, dogs with pendulous ears have issues with a moist environment. Keeping their ears clean helps to prevent infections but doesn't heal them if they already exist. It could be a yeast infection, or a bacterial infection and both require medication to go heal. After you get the ears cleaned up, see if the smell goes away. If it persists, please get him checked out. Untreated ear infections are really hard on dogs....See MoreDog-eared fence repair
Comments (1)Your post isn't clear - are the posts in place? Do they follow the terrain or are they level? My thought: With board-on-board, your dog-eared boards would look best installed vertically. If the horizontals are yet to be installed, I believe stepping them with the grade but installing them level between adjacent posts would look correct. This way, you can have the dog-eared boards equal in length yet have the fence follow the grade....See MoreTreatment for my dog that has his ear itching?
Comments (11)Look inside the ear & see if there's a bunch of black gunky stuff that looks something like coffee grounds; that would be ear mites. You can "wash" them out with mineral oil, & then add a bit more mineral oil to suffocate any survivors. Put it in a squirt bottle & gently put a little in the ear, massage it externally, down into the base of the ear, & stand back. If the ear is swollen, red, hot, and/or hard, there's an infection, & I think you have to consult a vet....See MoreDog Ear Cleaner
Comments (15)Majority here talked about Zymox and I do agree that when I search around the net people talked a lot about the Zymox because the product is approved by a lot of veterinarians, but personally, for the DIY solution, I think you can just make dog ear cleaner recipes by yourself, tons of info available online, but it might be not so good for you dog and might cause the side effect. In case you prefer all-natural stuff, you can try the Vet Organics EcoEars. So your dog ear will be free from any chemical substance. It is just pro and cons, some people happen to prefer the natural stuff. There are more like the Virbac, Petpost, etc, you can just read this review here for your future reference....See More
