Comments (19)As a vet tech here's what I'd suggest. If it's been wet and soggy around the best thing for your dogs paw is to clean it gently but good with soap/water and make sure it stays dry, no licking. Watch inbetween the dogs toes for redness/itching too and do the same if needed. If your going to give your dog anything for allergies I would try 1 tablet of regular benadryl in the pink/white box once daily. If that doesn't work after a few days then contact your vet you don't want to try various antihistamines because they could have things like sudafed (decongestants) in them that dogs bodies can't handle. As far as the ears you did great! As for the nails you might try the new Pedi Paws it could be the feel of the nail clippers or sound that bothers your dog. I get a hand full of dog food and set it aside, if my dog is good the first couple nails I give him praise and a treat etc. Just watch for the nails curling around if they get too long they can grow into the dogs pads but every dogs normal nail length is different. Comments (8)They make what is called a rinseless shampoo. Basically spritz it on, massage in with fingers, then towel off. Show-off is a brand sold by Chris Christensen. I use his Spectrum and White-on-white shampoos and also have his brushes. I like his shampoos because they have no perfume smell when dry. His brushes are just so well made, though they are spendy. However, unless you go to a dog show you would have to order. So check out your local pet store and see if they sell a rinseless shampoo if you don't want to order. I have no link to the CC products, just a satisfied customer. My dog has a very pretty coat who always gets lots of compliments....See MoreDog-eared fence repair
Comments (1)Your post isn't clear - are the posts in place? Do they follow the terrain or are they level? My thought: With board-on-board, your dog-eared boards would look best installed vertically. If the horizontals are yet to be installed, I believe stepping them with the grade but installing them level between adjacent posts would look correct. This way, you can have the dog-eared boards equal in length yet have the fence follow the grade....See MoreDog Ear Cleaning...Videos?
Comments (8)Awww! So cute! Dog ears should be rinsed generoulsy with ear cleaning solution. This cleans the gunk out and usually causes the dog to shake their head vigorously, which further dislodges the dirt and "stuff" from the canals. I then use a cotton ball to clean the exterior and interior, as much and as gently as I can. Dogs licking each other's ears isn't going to clean the ear canals, where bacterial and yeast infections can fester. If you find your dog's ears need constant cleaning, and get brown "potatoes" as I call them, you should have your vet test for bacteria and yeast. Both are easily treated with medication. Of course, you need to watch for ear scratching, rubbing and sensitivity, too. Beagles, unfortunately, are prone to ear infections. FTR, I use Zymox. http://www.zymox.com/products#earCare...See Moreannzgw
