WHY did it take SO LONG. My hat is off to the dogged persistence of his accusers. That's a big hunk out of anyone's life.

This is a man who berated other black men and held himself up as a model of what black men should be. At one time I was a huge Cosby fan. The joke is on us!

What saddens me, and also infuriates me, about Cosby, is when I was young, he was a hero to me. I loved the show I Spy, I even owned a board game based on it, and I even ordered a book from the Scholastic Book Club about him.

Kind of like O.J. Simpson to me as well. One of my heroes too in childhood. I like him the movie The Towering Inferno, I liked his cowboy boot ads, and overall I looked up to him. And now? Yikes.

Good. My thanks to the jury who didn't let his fame let him get away with it.

Hopefully the climate will start to change with all of these abusers being outed. We haven't heard of any new shocking cases yet, but I am sure there are more.

He deserves to die in prison, but I don't believe he'll serve a day in prison. He'll be out on appeal until he dies.

Yes, it is up to 10 years per, so it could be 30 years. I agree that he probably won't serve any, but at least his reputation and legacy are in shambles. That works for me.

ETA: I just read that if he serves any time at all the three terms will probably be concurrent. But his lawyer is planning to appeal, anyway, so… Crazy, just crazy

And at least the endless trips to court, hours and hours with attorneys, public humiliation, possibly shunning by family and/or friends--a certain kind of misery. But he's home, so it's not as bad as prison.

I'm one of the few people who really never liked him. I watched the show occasionally but I never laughed at his monologues. I always though he was slightly creepy. Yay for the women. I'm so sorry it took so long.

Arcy, it's the old adage, "Do as I say, not as I do!" All the observations and advice in his talk can still be true, he's just not the right person to hear it from.

When people worship other people, especially the entertainment elite and any politician, disappointment happens.

Most men are dogs and will get away with whatever they can. Ever seen women around rich influential men or celebrities? They offer and most men will take them up on it.

I do not care what President Trump did before he was elected. Clinton disgraced the office, so far President Trump is doing more for this country than any other recent President.

As for Mr. Cosby, he drugged those women which makes it even more odious. I don't believe President Trump was ever accused of that or of rape.

Sometimes it's just too difficult for people to be tolerant of others who commit the same sin as them.

I've got nothing to get over, Arcy. I enjoy every day of Trump's ineptness in the public eye and can only wonder how those who THINK they are religiously inspired, that voted for him, can continue to look away, tolerate and make excuses for his conduct.

Even Republicans in Congress reject his nominees, investigate all the misconduct among those who haven't yet stepped down, etc. And many of them have chosen to retire from Congress and not run again rather than be sucked in to supporting conduct they find distasteful. It just can't get any better. Kennedy and Clinton? I didn't support or make excuses for such conduct, not then and not now. And no, I'm not a moral do-gooder nor someone who practices a religion. Having proper attitudes and expectations doesn't require religion.

If this is the view your life's experiences have taught you, you've been most unfortunate. Based on my experiences, being and knowing lots of males, I'd say you're very wrong and it's rarely the case. A parallel comment could be made about women and their dishonest/"me first no matter what it takes" attitudes but it would be equally wrong to say that applies to "most".

Is it any coincidence that the men being accused are all elderly famous married millionaires and their accusers are approximately 30 years younger?

I don’t blame the victim but come on. All these young lovely ladies flocking around old rich men is nothing new, look at Hugh Hefner.

Also not going to the police, filing rape charges & having a rape kit done immediately baffles my mind. Then wait 30 years to cash in?

I will honestly admit. I do believe the women and I do believe the men listed above are absolute creeps. But if you’re gonna turn the other cheek for 20, 30, 40 some years then get over it. Your ship sailed.

I believe sexual harassment and abuse of power are real. It was accepted by society for a long time, also accepted by many as a means to an end. It doesn't make it right and also doesn't change how nuanced and difficult these past situations were and are.

Bobbi I see your point. Rich rape is different than poor rape. If a poor man raped them I’m sure it would have been reported sooner, but rich rape can be covered up or paid off. Sad situation.

JeCrigler, these women wanted to keep working. There are myriad reasons, many of them nuanced and always psychological that, women keep quiet for many years. Rape is a crime of extreme power.

As a woman I have experienced sexual harassment...it matters how you handle it and what you are willing to tolerate. No job was worth it to me and I was supporting two children. I moved on from more than one job. I also worked in a male dominated job. Elmer Fudd, "knowing a lot of males" LOL . I have worked at a shipyard with thousands of men and have worked for many in other areas as well. Most will do whatever they can get away with. So nice to know that you are so morally superior to everyone, of course nothing less would be expected from you. You are superior in everything.

Exactly. I have always been more comfortable around men. Men are going to try but the woman holds the power. You demand respect or you walk away. I am not talking about men who commit forcible rape. I am talking about men who are going to take advantage wherever/whenever they can. There plenty of women willing to have their moment and then regret it later and try to blame the guy for taking what was offered. These women were adults. Then decades later they are decide they were victims???? I knew at 15 not to take pills from a guy. I don't care what happened. The minute a women takes payment instead of using the courts she is no longer a victim in my mind. She is a prostitute. I walked out on a job at sixteen the first time a boss tried to intimidate me into having sex with him.

in Georgia, if you're not clever enough to understand the difference between a lot of males in a Neanderthal, majority male macho environment and others in a position of power vs the majority of other males in the general population. then that's your issue. Don't generalize based on such experiences because as I said before, you're wrong and way off base. And your words are highly offensive. Me morally superior to others, no not hardly.
