Yay or nay? living room decor
Comments (8)So pretty! I think a white marble topped rectangular cocktail table would be great (make it 3/4 the length of your sofa for good proportion). And a light wood simple media unit for the tv. Make sure it’s wider than the tv. Get a vintage piece if you can find one- it will have nice character and make your place look well put together. Hopefully you some room for an end table or 2 to put by the chairs and sofa. Then matching lamps for them. Multiple points of lights are needed in a living room....See MoreWallpaper, yay or nay?
Comments (18)Love the paper, but I'm going with a "nay". It is in a small hallway with no lighting over the credenza. Looking at photo #2 with the brick fireplace and the dark chairs, all with in eye shot of the niche, I'm just not feeling it. I would paint all the walls in the niche the same lovely color as your cabinets. Thinking hang art, a canvas, not a print, that gives a nod to brown and brick, the butcher block, and not quite so green...more like the soft blue/green of the cabinets. Install a LED battery picture light....See MoreCarrara Marble Island and White Quartz Perimeter - Yay or Nay?
Comments (19)acm, I love your cabinets and what you've done to complement them - it looks beautiful! Thanks for the inspirational photos! I'm on board with Sally T. - there's something so special about marble - I say go for it! The Calacatta Miele was quoted for $150 per sqft., but the White Carrara is $85 per sqft. Arctic White Quartz is $75 per sqft, and the Calacatta Gold was quoted at $315 per sqft (!) Of note, I live in a metropolitan area, so it could be a factor in pricing. Theresa, I'm conceding to the guidance that I need to pick one or the other, and as Patricia pointed out, there's marble throughout Italy (and Europe), and it's managed to survive centuries ... I know there's such a strong response for marble being a bad idea, but it doesn't add up for me - I'm definitely leaning in the direction of going with the marble for all of it. Again, thanks to everyone for the feedback!...See MoreFloof- Store bought soup nay and yay
Comments (81)I made lentil soup yesterday for dinner and served it with tortilla chips. I do not use broth to make lentil soup (as I said earlier), but I do add a couple of teaspoons of Knorr Chicken Bouillon instead of adding salt. I could use salt instead, but the bouillon gives it a richer flavor, although it is an extremely minor component to the flavor. The soup I made also had dehydrated carrots (I don't use enough fresh carrots to keep them on hand, except when I make cole slaw), potatoes, celery, half of a chile de árbol, a can of Ro⭑Tel Tomatoes, half an onion, a couple of garlic cloves, a tablespoon of oregano and thyme, 1-1/3 cups dried lentils, some olive oil, and enough water for cooking. If I had used homemade chicken broth instead of water, I would not have been able to tell an appreciable difference. If it had been potato soup, it would have been a completely different matter. When I make split pea soup, it has very few ingredients, and so the broth does make a difference, since I do not add ham or any meat to it....See MorePKponder TX Z7B
