I have a lot of drawers. I have 9-24" drawers in a 6'buffet area. (3 drawers wide and 3 drawers deep) I wish I had just put 6-36" drawers for my dishes. The 24" are just too small. I have 2 more 4-drawer bases that are 28" wide for smaller cooking pans, corning, pots. I then have 2-30" drawers for my large turkey platters and cooking pans. The 30" is a nice sized drawer. I have 2 more drawer bases of 4 drawers that are 22" wide for tableware, baking utensils, plastic storage ware, and odds and endes. I have several other drawers that hold just everything. Your lists sounds like a good list.

See, I'd just tell my DH that he could enjoy the sunrise while he's doing the laundry rather than while he's making coffee! ;) I kind of like the look of latest rendition, but I'm not loving the function. Leaving the laundry in the MBR would kill it for me. I know you don't mind it, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't be a sticking point for some potential buyer down the road. It would be for me. The issue raised earlier about kids having to come in the parents' room to do their laundry as they got older would be even stickier with the addition of another bedroom--i.e., room for a second kid with laundry needs. Could your stackable W/D fit in that closet area in the mudroom? Also, how will you use this desk? Will it become your home office space? If not, it seems like it would become a clutter magnet, ruining that nice view. I still prefer the rendition above where you reuse your sink and five-panel door. I think it makes the space far more useful in a house where useful space is at a premium.

1. Out of lurkdom now. 2. Tinkered with the I Spy block layout Sunday and ended up changing positions on about 3/4ths of the squares. It helped to take it off the design wall in the basement and work with it draped on the sofa and flat on the dining room table. Each position and lighting situation showed different areas for improvement. 3. Sewed 4 blocks together. Well, I actually sewed 16 blocks into 4 squares. I got answers to my stitch length question here on the forum, and then found out that I've got one of those machines that sews a 1/4 inch seam on only the left side of the feed dogs, so I had to really watch for pulling to the left. Time for a another machine. This kind of short-term goal setting (babysteps!) is just what I need. Seems like Red Green said something about if you want success, aim low--LOL! Sharon C.

cburch, I, too, love seeing these other great ideas. I just recently bought the little table linked below. It was just what I needed for a small space in our family room. Granted, this is not heirloom quality, but it serves our needs just fine :-) I bought it online, but I don't think I can link to o*erstock.com's website here. However, the "o" place was the cheapest place, due to their $2.95 shipping, which is even lower right now--just $1--but I think that special ends today or tomorrow.
