I worked on 2 of my Kansas Sunflower blocks last night. 8 to go? I'm SO ready for these to be done. Each block consists of 25 pieces (16 curved!). I still haven't worked on the flower centers. That will be my next goal. :)

I also am mostly done with my friend's 100 Wishes Quilt. All I need to do is quilt the border & attach the binding.

So far, I've done nothing that was on my list! I started a new (to me) technique for blocks on point and had to crawl around on the floor to lay it out as my Row by Row was on the design board. That was on Monday.....yesterday, I could hardly move! Between Aleve and the heating pad, it's better today so guess I better get sewing on that Row by Row and get it off the board!

I hope I didn't jinx myself for posting it here since I have at least 10Lbs to go.... I have 4 5LB bags of sugar on my counter to remind me of how much I have lost.......... Marci, I had no idea this child was so bad that she needed intervention. Wow, sorry you have had to deal with that but I am glad it's you because she might not get the care she needs otherwise. I hope things go well and I hope you get some rest this weekend. Losing sleep over it is not good for you. Are you able to do some yoga to help you unwind in the evening? Just a few minutes of breathing exercises and a few relaxing postures may help you sleep better. Try these breathing exercises: 2-to-1 breathing This breathing pattern relaxes the body by subtly stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, thereby inducing a state of relaxation. As you lie in bed, gently slow down the rate of exhalation until you exhale for twice as long as you inhale. You can coax a longer exhalation by contracting the abdomen slightly. Dont try to fill or empty or empty the lungs completely you are simply changing the rhythm of your breath. In the beginning it may help to count to six on the exhalation and three on the inhalation, or four on the exhalation and two on the inhalation (or any other 2-to 1 ratio you find comfortable). Focus on the smoothness and evenness of your breath, gradually eliminating any jerks and pauses. Counting Breaths Using the effortless 2-to-1 pattern described above, lie in bed and pay close attention to you breath. It should flow smoothly, evenly, and continuously. When the pattern is well established, take: * 8 breaths lying on your back * 16 breaths lying on your right side * 32 breaths lying on your left side Very few people complete this exercise. Sweet dreams! Try the 8 poses in the link below. I do the child's pose each night and it helps immensely. Raeanne, I know I can't do anything about it. Ommmmmmmmm but I want to find a comfortable place with her. I know it will all work out just the way it's supposed to! Beside, alot can happen in 9 months!! Maddie, you should try those breathing exercises and yoga poses too Sister! Night sounds very like very painful reading to me. Let us know how it is. Have you watched the Biggest Loser? IT's a great show. Today I am leaving at noon to go to the ride/drive that I host in my town of Hancock, NH for my driving club. It's going to be a splendid weekend which is great. Unfortunately, due to drought, the foliage is mediocre at best right now. Plus we haven't had a hard frost yet which is an essential ingredient to fall color. Sweet Pea will be styling as her cart is back from repair and actually looks brand new! It's much lighter than the old cart which we've had to use so she will be very happy with the lighter load. Woodsy- cute bunny. How do you get so much done? Bettyatp- I love the bumble bee! Lynette- Glad your eye is feeling better. Any one that knows about the eye patch is going to let you forget. Donna- Feel better soon. My husband does the same thing. Pulls me into one of his projects and then I can't get away. Kit- Hang in there on your trip. Did you take another project to work on? Marti8a- I go outside and goof off too. Mine is more of the feeding and watering animals and cleaning up after them. Biwako- Are the circles being done as snowball squares? Marty mo- How big is the quilt you put on the frame? Sometimes the big quilts can be a hassle. Cheryl- I've that about doing blocks of the months on my own but I would still be on Dec. 2006 Jennifer in VA- Looking forward to pictures. Dresden Plates is a beautiful pattern. OK, the sewing room is ship shape. I went OOT (out of town) and now I'm back and don't want to mess it up, but I'm packing for a trip to NC. Looking forward to the NC retreat! Goal is remembering to take the things I need. I'll get a round to sewing someday soon...just a busy time of year.

You all are wonderful to keep me on task!

1. Out of lurkdom now.

2. Tinkered with the I Spy block layout Sunday and ended up changing positions on about 3/4ths of the squares. It helped to take it off the design wall in the basement and work with it draped on the sofa and flat on the dining room table. Each position and lighting situation showed different areas for improvement.

3. Sewed 4 blocks together. Well, I actually sewed 16 blocks into 4 squares. I got answers to my stitch length question here on the forum, and then found out that I've got one of those machines that sews a 1/4 inch seam on only the left side of the feed dogs, so I had to really watch for pulling to the left. Time for a another machine.

This kind of short-term goal setting (babysteps!) is just what I need. Seems like Red Green said something about if you want success, aim low--LOL!

I just finished adding the borders to my QAYG, but I didn't quilt before I sewed it on like I planned. For some reason I became stupid and couldn't figure out how to get it on lik that...LOL

I will be quilting on it all weekend. I hope to finish this quilt this weekend.

Sorry,I'm a bit late posting. I got my HSTs trimmed and FINALLY got the borders on Candace's quilt. I didn't get the quilt sandwich done, though. Still, I did fine. Thanks again Suellen, for doing these posts. Thinking about you and I hope everything is okay.

I didn't set any goals for last week but did get a couple of things accomplished. I started a knitted sweater for my daughter and am trying a new technique and have fallen in love with knitting all over again! On Friday, I made a rag tote using University of Tennessee Volunteers fabric and recycled my husbands Levi's. It measures 15 X 15. I am pleased with how it turned out. Rebecca

Rebecca, Love your bag!!!!! Neat outside pockets, too!!!!

The only thing I accomplished that was on my list was working on my Row by Row....the top is all sewn together now and I can get it off the design board. My other accomplishments include working on the Landscape class y'all had while I was up north and sewing on our current class project. Who has time for UFO's with all the fun new stuff going on?????

Sorry I'm waaaay late. I have been soo busy. There was a lady that comes into my mom's picture frame shop that offered to give us a bunch of fabric and stuff, so we had to go load then unload at home and go through as much as we could. Then we went yesterday to her mother's house and there was more. We also got some furniture and some beautiful homemade ceramics. This woman was soo talented.

I did not finish the QAYG quilt but I did quilt both long sides. I ran out of basting spray and haven't been to the store to get any.
