preparing for guest bathroom remodel

OK my house is a middle aged ranch style and it has a long narrow laundry room that you walk through to get to the little tiny guest bath. I plan on combining them into one room by removing the stall shower, the wall that separates the two and a closet. I'm going to put lower cabinets with a counter top in the laundry side and refloor with tile. But here is where I need some input. Leading into the laundry/bathroom I have a hollow core pocket door with only a 1/4 inch of clearance at the bottom leaving no room for a threshold strip. do I take the whole thing out and replace it with a rolling barn door on the out side of the laundry room or just replace it with a shorter door. But either way I have to take the sheet rock off and take the door out. or is there something out there to join my kitchen floor with the new tile I don't know about yet.
