Spider mites on Clem indoors -- oops Zone 5a New Eng

Well, or course, clematis are not house plants. Long story. The pretty lavender blue one now has gotten pale, chartreuse, junky looking leaves. I spotted some fine webbing on the piece of tree whip I used for support. I cannot locate my magnifying glass and my "readers" are not the best.

Somewhere, in a dark corner of my cellar, I have pesticide or systemic pesticide that was bought before Rachel Carson was born. I might have some "neem oil" someplace. I am a bit of a "gimp gardemer," so please be gentle in your "what the heck?!" thoughts.

can anyone offer a solution or help? The thin vine is about 30" long. Perhaps I should snip it. Somewhere I have a systemic pesticide, but it tends to stink up the living room (and, I imagine that I'm likely inhaling some nasty chemical -- who knows.)

I could trim it down. Soapy water wash the 8" stem remaining and slowly introduce it to 40 degree temps of our winter April in New England. I hate to chuck it.

Thanks for any ideas.
