Depending on your hardware in the kitchen(door hinges-exposed? drawer handles?) If you have aluminum or silver hardware, I would recommend the pressed tin in silver. If you have bronze or gold, I think those tin tiles also come in those varieties, go with that. The freshness of white is so beautiful in a kitchen, so my thoughts are to maintain that fresh look with a back splash that compliments it. Either go all white or choose a marble with subtle tones of gray. If you want a pop of color, stay with something soft, as in the muted blue/green shades shown in the photo. Unless you like the look of stark contrasts, I would not go with a dark color. Nor would I select a busy pattern that screams (small glass tiles for example.) All white is elegant and simplistic and the back splash should support that.
