Yeah.. the pic quality isn't the greatest. That "peach" doesn't look peach at all irl. It's raffia cream by Behr and yeah it will be staying. In the last pic.. sorry, it's blurry, but you can see the living room. It is painted Harvest Brown by Behr.

I am probably too late, but I would think about a soft olive green, rather than a sage. I think the warmer tones of the olive would be nice in the shady space, and with a red door and warm white trim, along with the roof color, would be a wonderful combo! Have you considered adding simple trellises on either side of the lone window on the left? I would be nice with the cottage feel of the home, and would give some visual weight to balance the three windows on the other side. Paint the ceiling of the porch in a light blue, and change out the railings to wood ones. A charming cottage! Your current home is wonderful, and I can understand you hating to leave. But down the line, especially since remodeling is your passion, you will have something even more amazing, I am sure. For now, the cottage may feel small, but will also give you a sense of coziness and security that could be an island of peace in the storm.

Everything the same color does give the military barracks look to a building. I favor medium shade body colors that are in the grey/taupe range. But that can include a gazillion variations that lean toward some colorful tints. If they are grey/taupe enough, they usually look tasteful. (Sage or seafoam green is tolerable whereas Kelly green is not.) And then white trim looks cheerier and happier than dark trim. The body must be dark enough to contrast with the trim. Too light and the overall picture will look washed out. Too dark and it looks harsh. Somewhere in the medium range it seems to work best. The converse arrangement (light body with dark trim) seems a Goth-like look ... a little pointed to me ... almost as if stabbing someone to get their attention. Dark body with dark trim seems gloomy. Here are some basic ideas about arranging and organizing. Some trees are going to help the house look more protected and less exposed.
