So, so, so close...now I need help with the last big decision
Comments (26)divamum, it was crazy fast, once it finally got rolling! I sat with a big empty box of a room for about three weeks waiting for the cabinet guy. But once he started installing, that meant Joshua could come put in my soapstone, and everything else just fell into place very quickly. I went from NOTHING to almost everything in literally 48 hours. I think that, by the end of this week, I'll be done with everything in the kitchen, except of course the backsplash! :) malhgold, the range is an Aga Legacy--and the gas is finally turned on!! Woohooo!! Wouldn't you know it, though, I have to teach tonight and then I'm going out of town for two days, so I won't be able to actually cook on it until Friday. Ugh!! fern4, the wood is cherry in a natural finish. Thanks so much for the McIntyre link. There are some beautiful options there. I will have to spend some time perusing! plllog, one of my first choices was a pale green glass tile with a little cobalt glass thrown in for accent pieces. I may have to revisit that. If I can find the pics again, I'll post them. I'm loving these suggestions. Sometimes my head gets stuck on one thing and, even though I know it's not what I want, I can't move past it. This is really helping me think outside my self-imposed box....See Moreneed ideas on scrapbook page... need lots and lots of help !!!!
Comments (5)I found some really great "calligraphy" pens at Michaels. I can't remember the name or brand, but they have a pen tip at either end...for a smaller and larger calligraphy look. You have to practice some to learn how to hold the pen but I really love the look much much better than my plain hand-writing (which I HATE when I journal). They provide a more personal touch (look) to the page then printing calligraphy style on the computer (which is also a nice idea). Like Jill, I usually like to matt what I journal, depending on the page. If your cousin just graduated from Med school, could you somehow incorporate something from her "soon to be profession"? Perhaps you could make (scrape) a nice looking professional business card with her name, the date she graduated, her title etc.? I'm not too up on graduating med students so maybe she has to complete her residency, but maybe you could include smaller photos of where she will work or complete her residency on the page (in the background or superimpose photos of her on top of these smaller ones)? For something a bit more comical, maybe you could get a photo(s) of her with friends or family "using" her medical tools from her black bag with a humorous title page or a funny lyric or poem? I love to matt a lot of my photos and I also love to try (try being the key operative word here)and make up poems or rhyme when I journal. I think you could have a lot of fun and still have some very elegant and "fun" pages. Good luck! Send us a link for your completed pages so we can save the ideas...I'll need one in about 14-16 years!...See MoreI so so so need some help
Comments (14)"I think I am determined to prove everyone wrong - I must be mad (or stupidly in love)" Yes, you are stupidly in love. You are accepting incredible stories, you are involved in stalking & harrassment, you are relating the horrible way he treats his children, & it has no effect on you. It doesn't touch your euphoria at all. You're on a high, just as though you were on drugs. Reality doesn't seem real. But euphoria wears off, & then you'll feel humiliated & ashamed of yourself. Men who do this kind of thing know very well what they're doing; they're taking advantage of the vulnerability of women to certain "triggers" or signals. Men who "sweep you off your feet", "bombard" you with flowers & love notes, say that you're their soulmate, etc *know very well* that these behaviors trigger the release of endorphins, the feel-good/euphoria-producing hormones. They know that, as long as they keep that stuff going on, they can do anything they want, they can tell unbelievable lies, they can engage in flagrant misbehavior, & their target will believe them, will stay with them, will remain "stupidly in love" with them. They have absolute power over their targets. They don't want a "soulmate". They want a victim to abase & to con. One of the most potent things that they use is physical proximity. Females who remain in close physical proximity with a male *always* eventually bond with him. How many times have you heard a dazed, bewildered wife going through a divorce say something like, "I didn't like him when I first met him, but he kept pursuing me, & I finally thought I loved him. Now I think I must have been out of my mind"? That's exactly what happens. Once the euphoria wears off (& it will, just like any other drug), the woman crashes. & the man doesn't care. The game's over, he's "won", he's made a fool of her, & he's off to the next one. You lost. Your problem. Just like it's his ex-wife's problem right now. Try an experiment: Sever all connections for 14 days, that's 2 weeks. Don't see him, speak to him, email him. Don't accept presents, don't read letters or emails from him. Pretend he never came into your life. Then re-read the things you've written on this thread. I wish you the best....See MoreKitchen designer not so helpful - Need your help!
Comments (19)Jessrae, What about moving the beverage refrig over where the 21 in drawers are next to the banquette. It could be a beverage center w wine bottles above and a small sink for the kids to hand wash before eating or a wet bar. The advantium oven is both a speed oven and a microwave. Use the glass turn table to microwave and it comes with the graphite trays for cooking. It would eliminate the micro drawers and free up some options. There are so many settings for all kind of foods to reheat /melt/etc , it would be a shame not to use it. It is preset w all the beverages and foods to reheat at the appropriate time less than 5 min., more like 30 sec. The prep area to the right of the dish machine with dirty dishes to the left realistically won't happen as people clear dishes from your table to the counter above the trash and dish machine. Revisit the prep area. The recent updated drawing with the undercounter refrig next to the refrig seems redundant. I was looking at my overhang and would not want to reach under it even for items not used often. With the banquette there, I would eliminate the overhang where it is and have an overhang to the right or left on lsland to be used not as a family eating area but for one to visit w you while you prep or for one to read paper w cup of coffee or use a lap top as an alternative to sitting at the banquette. It will all come together for you....See Moreannaisler1
