Allen and Roth cabinets

visible joints - we just received our new kitchen cabinets and the majority of our doors have very visible joints. I addition to that they are all inconsistent. one corner could be 1/4", another perfectly fine . I had to take a day off to have the rep come see all the inconsistencies. His answer to me is 1. This is our product 2. If the space is less than the size of a business card, it passes our spec requirements. He agreed to completely refund our money but that was not doable since we had to re order cabinets from another vendor and wait an additional 6 weeks to receive

any advice would be great! some samples attached

Anyone else have this issue and how was it resolved?

It is considered within the normal parameters. I assume those frames area wood right? If the answer is yes, then you should know that wood expands and contracts with temp changes...gotta live with that, otherwise purchase cabinets that are MDF.

Get a touch up kit from the vendor and fill it in if you see exposed wood.

Totally 100% normal. With cheepchinesecrapola cabinets or high quality American made custom. You are way over reacting. You should have educated yourself first before calling anyone out.

Wood swells and shrinks in the presence of humidity. That will be in every single cabinet that you would order from anyone unless you order all MDF doors. And you’ll get some paint breaks even then. And you haven’t been through a full season of swelling and shrinking yet. It will become even more prominent.

Control your humidity and control how much wood movement you have. Cabinet manufacturers and wood floor manufacturers alike require between 30-55% humidity levels in your home. That means a humidifier in winter and AC in summer.

All normal.

Thanks all - the $4500 quote from our Contractor is including cabinets plus assembly labor for doing Ikea (I asked about this directly). This is part of a huge project that involves essentially building an addition, knocking out walls, moving plumbing and electricity, and more, etc. etc. I'm not sure how the $4500 breaks down to cabinets alone vs. labor, but I don't think he is charging much for the labor portion considering all the labor they are already doing on our house on this 5+ month project. I also think at this point reading through multiple threads that it's true we might easily spend more than that $4500 going to a Lowe's or Home Depot even if cabinets come preassembled. I got hopeful for a moment while in Lowes, but I'm now skeptical. We WILL likely cost out some options when the time comes, just to be sure in the end. It's just not at all worth the headache to us to try to DIY the assembly at that time for a number of personal reasons I won't go into.

Has anyone installed this countertop? Are you happy with it? In the store, the black looks like barbed wire - really pronounced. Online, pictures look great. I was trying to decide between that and peaceful. Peaceful is beautiful, but a lot more $$.

Engineered stone vanity top on a Lowes Allen + roth vanity

I have the same problem with a vanity I bought also: regular liquid hand soap has left stains or discoloration marks on the stone top. Doesn’t anyone know of a way to remove them? It’s very hard to capture them in photos but here are a few.

Ok thank you so much for that guidance! We purchased the touch up kit so we will use that. I wasn't sure if this was normal as I have never really inspected cabinets so close until our shipment arrived =)

Appreciate your wisdom as this is our first remodel!

Purchased MDF cabinet doors, specifically NOT solid wood. well see how it turns out once installed. check back in 2 months.

Hi Mirella, We are thinking of getting the same Ellen and Roth cabinets in the color Tenley. We are going to upgrade to the full plywood box and shelves- level 3 Luxury. (1 Essential $2519, 2 Select $3144, 3 Luxury $3770) I'm wondering how yours are holding up. we were debating between Ikea $2800 and these. Thank you!

I just ordered these and the samples in store look exactly like this. I actually prefer it because it feels more authentic than the shaker styles where they put a purposeful line there. Hope you are enjoying them. I looked at ikea (had to chase cabinet parts all over the place to compete the kitchen as so much is outta stock) menards Klearview cabinets that are a lot like ikea, and these which were %35 off and the most affordable option for me with the sale And all wood and semi custom. So I went with these. I went with level two because the cabinet boxes don’t need to be plywood as they aren’t moving etc. the level 2 still has soft close and plywood shelves and drawers and dove tail.

looking forward to them arriving next month!
