Refined Modern Farmhouse Basement Flooring

Hi! Going to be remodeling our basement (I have 3 kids under 8 years old) and want to go with a modern farmhouse sort of look as inspiration.

I've ordered samples online and gone around town and brought down countless luxury vinyl plank flooring options to the basement to take a look. In the end we decided on a mid-town brown type wood looking plank that is actually called 'farmhouse' in the title. Last moment now I am thinking of the whitewashed lime white oak type of look that is light--I did bring 1 or 2 of them down there to the basement and we ruled it out quickly--thought it looked too washed out and light but now I am having doubts. I saw a photo (not a basement) that I really liked the white oak look in. I did like the mid-town brown because then I could go lighter on the carpet and have some contrast down there, which I liked. Everything else will be light. And I thought it added some warmth to the 'cold' basement.
