Help choosing grout color please!
Comments (4)I would love to see a picture. I have my pics on photobucket, but there are other on line storage sites. From there, I copy the html code (by clicking on it, and a tiny sign says "copied"), then I paste it right into my message. A way to test grout color is to put some dry grout into the cracks of a portion of your mosaic. Then vacuum and blow it out. That is how I chose the colors for this little table. The warm tan looked better with the table colors than gray. I had already grouted the bird dark grey as I wanted it to look like lead. I chose gray for a lamp I made because it had bluish pinks in it and I thought that gray complemented that better than tan. I never use white, but I have a friend who does and her things are beautiful. Her tess tends to be light background tho. Hope this helps, Kathy...See MoreHelp choose a grout color please.
Comments (5)You've got to take the time to do a trial of a color or two you think might be right. Stick some of your tile on a piece of scrap plywood, mix up some grout and give it a try. Use broken pieces if you've got them. Prop it up on your counter and have a look at different times of day. You'll find one that is right. I was watching something on HGTV the other day and saw a bathroom that had a grout color that was just so wrong. Had they done a trial with colors other than white it would have been so much better! A stitch in time and all that......See MoreHelp with grout color please
Comments (1)If you use a color you'll be increasing the patterning. That is, you'll get a brickwork grid that pops, instead of a white wall with some texture. If you're trying to limit busyness this isn't going to do it. It puts a rectangular pattern against a swirly/spotty pattern. More of a more is more idea than a calming one. Whether it looks good or not is your choice. Some will like it. Some won't. But not timeless. Very of this moment. That's not a bad thing....See MorePlease help me choose a grout color for my laundry room tiles :)
Comments (7)It is impossible to do this on line and you need actual samples to be sure what dried grout will look like. This is mock up of Mapei Alabaster. I would look at backs and sides of this tile and get close to that color....See MoreChristina Lee
