Comments (64)Hi all,Good Morning! I see that a lot of you haven't received your books yet, is no problem to wait, lets give it the rest of the week for everyones books to arrive. After all the first lesson involves the book LOL. So everyone who signed up, once you all get your books, pop in on this post and let me know when you get your book then hopefully we will start on Friday or Saturday of this coming week. Woodpat, glad to have you join us. This will be a casual and very easy exercise, I am hoping to have lots of thoughts going back and forth between everyone participating in this....See MoreWhat do you think about this house and how would you paint it
Comments (9)Nice house with potential. It's been added onto at least once, looks like twice. Are the kitchen and bath in the newest parts? Second the idea of retaining the trees for awhile, thinking you may keep them, because they 'are' period authentic. I live in an 1820s federal and there was also a very tall one directly in front of our bedroom window, past the second story. In it sat mockingbirds the first night I slept in this house. Since this house has been around so long, all the other oldsters in our rural area have memories about it, and many have shared, including pictures. There in one picture of a Civil war soldier about to leave for battle, was the tree. And several others still standing on our property. It finally came down in a storm a couple years ago, and I felt like a piece of history went with it....See MoreWe have this odd little area....what do I do with it?
Comments (4)Could you get two single door cabinets, one of the shorter height and one of the taller height and fill in the small resulting gap with a filler? Barring that I see: Fill it in with a matching panel Fill it in with drywall and paint it the same color as the dropped area. Drop the ceiling at least as far as the gap I wouldn't call extra attention to it's oddness by doing something "different" with it....See MoreWhat do I hang on these windows??? Odd window placement!
Comments (8)We just bought the shutters. Sunburst shutters, not cheap. Our entire first floor windows are the same white plantation shutters so we won't be painting them. That would completely ruin the shutters. It's been a dark, gloomy, rainy day so I've had the shutters closed when I took the pictures. Normally they are open but no light would be coming in on a day like today anyway. We can't have a family room without a single window. I'm not removing the window to avoid coming up with an idea of what to hang on the walls. When we moved furniture back into the house after remodel we did toy around with the idea of the 2 seater on the other wall but it looked even worse. The lamp is only temporary. Something we had before and it moved back into the room but I hate that lamp, it doesn't stand up straight so it will be replaced, hopefully with a table lamp. Beverly.....I agree about the area rug. Definitely looking for a bigger rug. Again, this is just what we had and reusing until I find something else. No suggestions on what to hang on the wall other than how everything existing is all completely wrong?...See Morearcy_gw
