Why not? I'd recess the microwave and have shallow cabinets on the pantry side...for canned goods. The balanced cabinet you drew is lovely and I don't understand why it won't work? Couldn't you have one of those swing out doors on the range side, to access that back corner, for extra storage, rather than the lazy susan? I've seen those on the forum several times. I'd be tempted to slide the range wall/window area towards the fridge just a bit, so you'd have fewer uppers on the right side of the windows and a larger upper/hutch storage on the left. You could have a cabinet next to the corner access, for bulky pots and then two sets of drawers to the left of the range. Since you should definitely (LOL) put the stools on two sides of the island, I think it might look better anyway, if the range was over just a bit...and you would have the hutch storage you really want :)

Thanks for the advice, Kristine! I moved some things around in the Ikea planner like you suggested. Your suggestion for the fridge location is where my fridge is currently located. I moved it in my original plan because I dislike how much it sticks out into the middle of the room. I could probably solve that issue by getting a counter-depth fridge. I need to do more research on that because I am concerned that we won't have enough fridge space with a counter depth model. I frequently put cookie sheets in the fridge and they take up the entire depth of my current fridge (a side-by-side model). I think I could fit them in a counter depth fridge if I got the kind with 2 french doors on the top and the freezer on the bottom. I moved the wall oven/micro over to the far left wall because I didn't want to make the peninsula any shorter than it already is. It is only 6 feet and any smaller seems like it won't be long enough. I would like to be able to have enough space for 6 girls to be working around it at one time and 6 feet will already be tight (3 girls on each side). I do really like moving the cooktop to the far left wall as well. It seems to give me a lot more bottom drawers for storage along the top wall which would be great. I was only able to fit an 18" cabinet between the cooktop and the wall oven. I'm not sure that is enough space on that side. I think I remember seeing that 24" of working space should be the minimum. I could get more space by using a range instead, but I don't really like that setup. I frequently use both the oven and the stovetop at the same time with 2 people cooking. So the person using the stovetop is always in the way of the person trying to open the oven. I would really like to have the 2 separated.

Thanks! I guess I'm in the place where after spending over $700K in my large-scale remodel, I want top quality but don't need a $5K Hancock & Moore club chair like I've had foe many years. However, no problem with $1,200-$1,800 living room lounge-around chairs and who-knows for sofa etc but I am quite confused since you can find stuff that appear to be inferior quality/construction in that price range then come across others I happen to know are excellent in the same range. Seems to be all over the place. I'd prefer to just work with a source I can trust and isn't going to gouge me. I have a bunch of Ethan Allen stuff that's around 10 year sold and has held-up very very well. I'd rather buy close/direct from the manufacturer though if possible. I don't have an environment where the furniture would get abused, just want it to last. I went through the Looooong list of "designers" (or whatever they call the salespeople) on the FLS site and some appear super experienced as legit designers and others more general sales roles. Blind item for me so it's a crap shoot finding someone I like and will shoot straight to pick the right stuff for my needs.

I have not approached a custom glass/mirror cutter shop in our area, to be honest I didn't think a custom glass shop would be able to make a mirror, I thought they would only supplied the glass. I will see what I can find and reach out to them. Thank you!
