I don't think it looks very 'orange'. Before you do anything to the brick, think about the shutter color and door color. We don't have a lot of brick houses in my region, so I don't have color suggestions. I would drive around your area and get some ideas. There must be houses that are made of the same brick. Figure out what you like/don't like on similar houses.

There are ton of brick houses but mine seems be the only one in this color. I’m definitely willing work with shutter and door color as it’s a orange/red now that I also don’t like. Was considering dark stained wood shutter and doing a wood grain technique on door to make look like wood, as metal now, and stain same color as shutter. My husband likes the brick and thinks painting them not necessary. Plus I would be one painting the house so not an easy task.

I wouldn't paint the brick, but would, as suggested, paint the front door a brighter/lighter colour. Landscaping will make a huge difference, bringing the focus there. Try a wide, curving garden along the driveway and continuing it alongside your walkway to the front door.

Nice home. I am in agreement with the others...embrace the brick. I do not know what your budget is but would consider changing the overall style with some minor changes. I would take out the front porch railing, extend the steps across the front making a wider front entrance. Move the support posts to each corner with a chunkier square one. It is difficult to tell if the entrance area is brick or siding. If siding, I would lighten that area up with taupe, beige, grey, or sage. If you opt to replace shutters, I think an eyebrow would add interest. Rather than accenting the triangular face above the window I might suggest painting it a darker color/stain like the garden shed. Good luck.

We have a tight budget as there was a lot of work needed inside this house. We are planning on redoing the railings as we have a carpenter bee problem and they pretty much destroyed them. Be we can’t do the extension. The front porch area is brick too. Here’s a better photo

I would select larger white board and batten shutters with window boxes to add more interest to your home and take your focus off the brick.

Although I don't like the white gable on the right and would darken the color. I suspect the garage door is white, and that may need adjusting too. I find your brick to be nice - think peach, not orange. Changing the door color to something like Crisp Romain will take it in a different direction. Removal of the chunky shrubbery would make a huge difference. Hire a landscape architect to design something you can install over the next few seasons so you don't break the budget. Be sure the plan includes some trees - maybe even more than Dig Doug illustrates.

I also don’t read orange in your brick however, if you really don’t like your brick, you could stain it. Brick stains are maintenance free for life (vs paint which will likely start peeling within a few years). Here’s a product to investigate:

I think your brick color is called blonde. I like it. The red door does nothing to enhance the color. Landscaping will help a lot and add value, whereas painting the brick may devalue it and won't add value.

Don't paint the brick - you would be making more maintenance for yourself. Landscaping would make a huge difference.

Landscaping is in the works but we just removed the old and are working on a plan, dont want rush it. I’ll be making the shutters so size and style won’t be an issuue. Went and looked at paint colors that may better work with bricks. Grayish greens and blues.

If you object to the orange tones, you may not be happy with blues and greens. These colors are opposite orange on a color wheel, and make the orange more so, by contrast. It's a complementary color scheme to use a color opposite on the color wheel. A very common choice in decorating, but it does make the colors stand out more.

I like the warm tones of your brick and so I would probably like the grayish greens and blues with your brick.

Partim thank you. The more comments the more I see the brick isn’t so orange and more the “blonde” color. As of now the black shutters seem too stark. Looking for a color that is less stark. Everyone is so helpful but still not sure if the grey-green or grey-blue way yo go. I think the current door shutter colors just so throwing me off.

Check out the grays and beige-greys that er612 showed on May 9 2017 in the link I posted above. I think those might be colors that would look good with your blonde/buff brick, this last color in particular.

There are paint company sites that allow you to upload a photo of your house and try out different colors. I wonder if you could use one of them to try out different colors for the doors, shutters, and garage door. Or even use your photo and the paint program that comes with most Windows computers. In your photos, the garage door is up, but its color may strongly influence the look of the house.
