Comments (3)A couple of my favorites.. Dark blue with a yellow door.. http://simplygrove.com/uncategorized/who-has-a-yellow-door Or lighter more muted colors.. http://www.countryliving.com/homes/renovation-and-remodeling/curb-appeal-paint-0206...See MorePainting kitchen cabinets - need soft white color suggestion please!
Comments (52)Thank you, lam and peppy doodle! I have to admit I was a little bit in shock when they first took down the tape because it looked so different, but now I'm loving the change! I'm glad I'm not regretting it. I keep sneaking back into the kitchen to look at it. Seems so much brighter and lighter than before, but still warm enough with the creamy white. I can't wait to see it with the doors back on and new hardware installed. Snookums - thanks for the tip. I'm trying to keep everyone out of the kitchen and the painters are very careful, but good to know. I'd hate to have a can of paint spill all over my slate floor!...See MoreCabinet paint suggestions please!
Comments (43)Those are beautiful Herb and I would add if someone likes grays these can be easily incorporated into a cohesive color scheme, using the 60-30-10 rule to determine proportions of ea. color. One of my favs is golds, grays + whites. Its the gray upon gray upon gray that starts to look a bit funereal. Monochromatic schemes can look good, but they need to make up for lack of color variation with a good mix of different lights and darks, tones, textures, etc. Dont see that in so many of these gray gray and more gray threads. In the case of OP Ive seen blue gray + red-orange + white done in an intentional way that looked great (Ikea used to have a lot of that in fabrics etc. not sure what they have now) Maybe just apply that color scheme to the kitchen and call it a day?...See MoreHelp with cabinet stain/paint suggestions
Comments (10)you put the cart before the horse on this one. You got the marble countertop. you should have done the cabinets next. There is no way golden oak was every going to work w/fantasy brown. If you didn't want white or gray cabinets, you should have picked a diff stone. BTW, forget that backsplash tile. way to busy looking next to your granite. It will end up looking like this . I'm also questioning the green wall color. Have you painted a sample of it ? I think it's the wrong green tone. You need a grayish green, not a yellowish green. The kitchen clt posted is very pretty. (but doing that island color for all of the cabs would have been overpowering. if you don't have an island, you could do the lowers in a more subtle color like that, but do a white upper) These are all fantasy brown countertops. Check out the colors and tiles they have with them. (normally w/this stone you'll want warmer grays, taupe, warm charcoal, blue/grays and green/grays) This color for your cabinets would be a nice choice. the tile is Athens Gray marble creamy white cabinet w/a tumbled bottacino marble forget the tile for now. do the cabinets (paint them. w/a professional painter who sands and primes) and wall color first. tile splash comes dead last. But paint the walls white first. that green backsplash wall is really throwing off the colors in there...See Morehollyfr
