You may want to consider another slab because the gray is only in one area. Most of the slab is white and when installed you may be disappointed that there is not much of the gray and what is gray is all in one area of the countertops.

Judy G too late, bought them. I did my due diligence with my budget and quartzite prices and this was what worked. Also it's really beautiful in person. If it were your slab what part would you use for the island?

Just wanted to say I love your kitchen the way it is. It doesn't look dated and it all works and looks beautiful together. I think most of the people here would love to have your kitchen as their "after"!

It reminded me of my sea pearl. Look at BM Grey Cashmere. It’s a very calming color as an alternative.

Walnut floors are darker and show every hint of dust, footprints, anything at all. Why would you want to take out what looks like very nice flooring for something that is much more labor-intensive? Your kitchen is beautiful - why change anything at all?

So my cabinets are 20 years old, which isn't really old at all right? Except that they were so poorly constructed, they're literally falling apart. You can't see the interiors, but they're cracked, the door hinges are junk, always causing the doors to wobble, if I had a nickel for every time we've had them tuned up....so this job all began as 'let's get a new kitchen and update the bathrooms while we're at it'. Now we are refinishing our 20 year old oak floors with a new stain color, not replacing the floors, so I just up and said walnut, but tbd on stain color. My floors are in excellent shape but the 20 year old stain has oranged and 4 kids and dogs. Yeah it's time.
My fabricator cut a square out for me. It does have a hint of sage in the grey. Which honestly doesn't really help my love of teal, but I've bought it so it's mine.
SO back to the original question. Seeing how busy my stone is, would you still paint the island a different color or keep it all white Dove.
If I do paint it, I'm going to make it very subtle. No dark color for me. Backsplash will be subtle too.

I like the idea of a contrasting island.

You know its just paint. If you want to go bold then go for it.

Bell burg Maggie - agreed it is just paint. But when you buy custom cabinets with a catalyzed application you really can’t up and repaint if 2 years from now you find you just don’t like It. It’s a finish that’s applied in the factory so you’re going to have it for a long time. I like the ease of saying ‘white dove’ on everything. Then boom I’m done. I’m worried I’ll get the color wrong and there’ll be some internal whining about that .
But mostly I’m probably most worried I pulled the trigger on the slabs too quick so since it’s busy, lacking symmetry, I don’t want to further complicate matters with my island color

Go for it. Really, it will be alright. Your idea is gonna be great. Since you have already bought the slabs for the counters, continually match everything with it. White Dove is a slightly "off-white" white, so double check it with your stone. Take paint swatches for the island and match it to the gray that you see most in the stone. Don't try to pull out a color that isn't prominent (it is highly unlikely it will come out as you had pictured). It's gonna look great! good luck.

@Regina Work, if you are still on here, how did this turn out? I have cabinets that are very close to white Dove, and am thinking about Nuage but I'm a little concerned the grey will be too cool for the creamy white of the cabinets. Can you post photos of your finished kitchen?
