Epoxy adhesive to fasten vanity back/side splash???
Comments (1)By "sides" you mean ??? Free standing vanity doesn't have sidesplashes. Epoxy is not usually used. It's more typical to affix a narrow backsplash with silicone adhesive sealant. Silicone is also used to set the counter top. Maybe you meant the sides of the top, as in the side edges where it contacts the vanity. Maybe the guy thinks that silicone will stain or something. I don't know that epoxy would do any better for not penetrating and staining stone. Casey...See MoreSide splashes?
Comments (4)I also do not think side splashes are necessary. I think even back splashes can be optional, depending on the care and usage of the sink. I did a remodel about a year and a half ago in our main / guest bathroom that gets daily usage for washing hands. I went without a back splash for some time (a few months) and have no intention of ever installing a side splash. I did another bathroom remodel a few months ago with a pedestal sink and have no back splash. It also gets daily use for washing hands. At this point, I have no intention of adding a back splash, though I've considered it. I think you will be just fine as long as you're not flooding the countertop and should jump on this opportunity....See MoreGranite back splash issue
Comments (12)Just out of curiosity what is your wife's objection to the 6" backsplash? I understand that this is tall, but in your situation it seems like the visually "cleanest" alternative is either the backsplash on the back and not on the sides, with nothing else on the sides except drywall, or an even backsplash and side splash of 6" all around. Two different heights of backsplash, or backsplash on one wall and a separate tile on the sides are more visually complicated. So if the objection is visual in that 6 is too high, I think the consistency of one height and one material would override the fact that it's a little higher than normal....See MoreTile Back-Splash Placement Advice Needed
Comments (1)If I understand correctly, the wall cabinets on the sink wall will be replaced. Give that, I would run the tile to the ceiling, like the range wall...See Moreartistsharonva
