Just bought a money tree, and the leaves are drooping/ wilting..
Comments (13)Okay, thanks for the help. I did give it a little water today, I made sure it drained all the way out, and I put rocks on top of the soil, and there is a tiny layer of water, and rocks that sit higher than the water at the bottom of the pot so the cup that it came in sits on top of tbe rocks. I read somewhere that this helps humidify the plant. Easily removed if you guys don't think I should have either or. I also read cold damaged plants like a humidifier somewhat near by while it recovers. Is my anita plant good enough (produces humidity) or should I get out my humidifier? Comments (0)Hello, I have a braided money tree that started with three trunks when I bought it in spring 2015 (almost 1 year ago). It stands about 1.25' to 1.5' tall. Bought from Lowe's with no drainage hole in pot and rocks glued to the top of the soil. I water it occasionally and let it dry completely. It sits to the side of a north facing window so it gets indirect sun for long periods of time. One of the three "trunks" was completely dried out and separating from the "soil". I removed the trunk and the foliage growth for the other two "trunks" has continued. I would like to ask for specific advice on a potting mix and timing for the pachira. I am relatively new to repotting although I did recently (5 days ago) repot a small golden pothos. Thank you in advance for sharing your expertise. Comments (1)Not normal. Probably not enough light, too much water, too little nutrients, inappropriate potting mix....a combination of these conditions. Post some pics for better advice. Josh...See MoreAdvice on taking care of a Money Tree (Pachira Aquatica)
Comments (6)@ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5 - No I didn't re-pot, should I re-pot it? I'm not really sure how I would go about doing that. I know there's a few guides online, but would you be able to point me to a reliable one please? I've moved it back to it's corner where it get some light from the window. I'll leave it there and stop taking it for walkies lol. I think I misinterpreted the plant being stressed (I didn't even know plants could get stressed) as it needing sunlight or water. I bought from IKEA so it's probably not used to direct outdoor sunlight. They had a plastic bag over the branches and leaves so the leaves were already wrinkled when I bought it. @floral_uk z.8/9 SW UK - I live in York, I'll keep it indoors until mid May and take it out doors then. By being able to keep it outside until September or October, do you mean I should keep the plant indoors again once the temperature starts to drop? I thought the holes were was just from physical damage, but you watch enough YouTube videos and read enough articles online and you start getting it in your head that it's some sort of pest problem or disease....See MoreAllison Lipp
