Need help with kitchen for a cottage look at the beach
Comments (35)Let me give some more details to help you visualize the room. The kitchen is part of the Great Room. It looks out over the yard and the ocean beyond. The main wall of the kitchen is just over 17 feet. On one end of the wall will go a 6 foot French doors which go to a large deck. 11 feet remain for the appliances on the other side. The only other kitchen wall is 8 feet long. And that will have the 3 foot refrigerator cabinet, the 3 foot corner cabinet and 2 feet remain between the two. Now my husband is asking me to avoid a peninsula or an island. He really feels it will take away from the open, airy feel of the room. So this is the problem: The upper corner cabinet on the main wall will measure 2 ft. The stove and sink will be 30 inches. The DW is 24 inches. I don't know how to arrange these on the wall. I would like to put in a 7 or even 8 foot Bay Window. I will have the bottom of the window start at the counter and the stone countertop will also extend into the window sill area. What do I do with the stove? Separating the oven from the cook-top doesn't seem to be much help. I apologize in advance for the repetition of this post on another thread. The problem flowed from one into the other. Thank you very much for your help and your patience....See MoreNeed help with my living/dining areas
Comments (8)Hi Laura - How about TV on a low console very close to the counter/bar. You could put TV on a swivel base. Or you could do a long low console to run the full length of window wall. Put TV on right side of window (facing us) and use left side for bar items or dining stuff. If you put TV next to counter you would be able to see from dining area also, but on other side you could see from kitchen. I think the white linen panels and roller shade would look great. The War is Over picture above is another nice option - I personally would prefer having the TV on the window wall so you can actually see the TV from the couch without getting a crick in your neck. I also think it could look very cool....See MoreNeed Some Design Thoughts: Beach Condo Living / Dining Space
Comments (6)From what I can see and what you are saying, I would go with the CF couch (chrome will not stand out with your whitewash as much as the dark legs on the RTG sofa, and I believe the best option is to add a stand-alone desk (open secretarial desk so it's not too visually heavy) behind the sectional, as suggested above, with it facing the window....See MoreNeed some help with Living Room & Kitchen area in new apartment
Comments (5)Have you looked at Article? do you like this combo? I just recently got the black leather Sven sofa and that exact chair for my room. I love them! I also got the Sven leather bench/coffee table. prices are very reasonable. Then find the accessories. bring in some art or a rug w/color. I really loved the sven in the blue. this would look great w/your floor and cream wall color. (it is cream, right, and not the yellow in the picture?) Here's how the Sven sofa, bench/chair look: The pouf was from Amazon,,,the Tables and MCM credenza I've had and refinished myself. Rug I had, but I want to get something lighter. If you don't like the mcm style, they do have some others look at the Sven Birch Ivory Sofa. it's on sale! https://www.article.com I don't know know what your style is, but here's a sample mockup for the nook...I like the idea of the bench against the wall diff pendant. table ideas, and a darker chair...See More
