Comments (11)We have the grohe in our tub/shower combo and also didn't think about the hot cold issue for the tub. Our max 110 and while it is hot enough for a tub initially, I find it isn't hot enough for those long hot soaks. I used to run more super hot water when the tub started to cool. It also isn't hot enough to fill my hotwater bottle (yes, we have really cold winters here). I was told we could just adjust it up to a higher degree, but then the max cold would be warmer. We've decided to leave it for now. Just wanted to let you know our experience. Also wanted to say that the grohe is quite difficult to install. Our plumber hadn't done it before and ran back and forth to the grohe rep a few times before getting it right....See MoreGrohe vs. Hansgrohe - Brushed Nickel Finish
Comments (2)I haven't mixed them myself, but I'm currently considering buying a Grohe faucet & Hansgrohe shower head/ diverter/ etc for our master bath renovation. I went to a store that sold both recently & compared the 2 finishes side by side; they looked extremely similar, so you may be able to pull this off!...See MoreGrohe shower volume valves & levers
Comments (3)I have a volume control lever handle, the Classic series. Is it possible that the handle isn't screwed in all the way? I've never had a problem with the lever changing position on its own, but I have found the handle connection to work its way loose, especially after I clean it. Looking at the exploded parts list for the Kensington volume control, it appears to have a 2mm screw that performs the same function as the handle connection for the Classic volume control. There should be a small hole that takes a 2mm Allen wrench to tighten the lever handle. Here is a link that might be useful: Kensington volume control exploded parts diagram...See MoreChoosing shower faucets, heads and valves
Comments (10)I had read about the Hansgrohe valve, but I didn't care much for it. Can't understand exactly how I could control temperature, volume and diverter with only 2 handles... We recently installed a new shower with a rainshower head and handheld head, run by one of the Hansgrohe controls. It's very simple to operate. The temperature is controlled by the smaller handle on the outside. I think I've touched it once; after putting it on a temperature both my wife and I apparently find desirable, we never touch it. The larger, inner handle controls volume and diverter. With the Thermobalance II, shown above, you turn the handle left of center to use one shower head, or right to use the other showerhead. Want to be able to use both at the same time (as I did)? For a few more dollars, you get the Thermobalance III valve and trim... This unit could control three different showerheads, or the plumbing can be configured to control two showerheads -- which is what we did, and what I think you're saying you want to do. Turn it left to the for one showerhead, turn all the way to the left and the second showerhead runs; in between, both showerheads run. It's easy to adjust the volume between the two, although I have to say I just go mid-way and let them both run full force. I like the simplicity of having only one control and one handle on the wall. You can certainly configure it with three different handles if you prefer; I just wanted to explain how the Hansgrohe works if you're interested. -- Eric...See MoreS K
