need 48' bath vanity
Comments (3)We love the vanity (yet to be installed, but looks lovely sitting in our livingroom LOL. The one thing you need to consider with it though, is that it might need a couple of cross braces inside the top frame if you are doing a granite top. Yes, the picture shows a granite top, and doesn't say it needs more support, but we have been advised by our granite company that for "peace of mind" we should be putting 3 supports strips in where the undermount sink will go. The colour is a slightly darker than shown cinnamon colour, but will set off the slate in the shower nicely we think. Good luck! Comments (8)I'd go with the 40" vanity and the bigger shower with a little more space in between. With that smaller vanity, you might want to reconsider the medicine cabinet. I just decided to put a medicine cabinet back into my bath remodel. I realized I would prefer to have a place for the toothbrushes and other bits that tend to stay on the counter all the time. I haven't had a medicine cabinet in so long, I forgot how useful they are, and these days there are lots of great options. I thought about getting the Pottery Barn vintage recessed cabinet, but decided on a Robern to get an outlet in there too. That way the toothbrushes and shavers can charge out of sight. Comments (12)The picture marked version 2 I like the open hallway and stairs and bedroom placements with closets buffering the bathroom noise best. You are also able to get large furniture into the master bedroom. In the other unmarked version I'm not sure how you are going to get any large furniture in trying to turn that corner. In both though I think the master bath/closet could use some re-work. I don't like the access in the one marked version2 for the closet as you have to walk around from the bathroom through the master to get to the closet. However I'm not liking the other option either with two openings as it is wasting closet space. I'm thinking there has to be some other options available for the space too....See MoreOne or two vanities in hall bath?
Comments (16)If you are still receptive to comments--I suggest 1--take out the one sink behind the door--add vertical shelving w/mirror behind and maybe a counter space w/room for bench/stool under it for your daughter to use as makeup table...There is probably an electrical feed there to use for a lighted makeup mirror. Space would only be in use when the door was closed and she was there so access should be OK. You can go all the way to ceiling with shelving and even use bench with storage feature. 2--lengthen counter on opposite wall and add trough sink w/two faucets if you think two people might be using snk at same time. If not, then lengthen counter and move sink toward toilet to gain some room away from the door. You probably could add set of drawers at the end of counter or a cabinet tall enough to screen the toilet and make a pseudo-wall. I find drawers more helpful than open shelving most of the time because they control and conceal better. 3--if you want to increase the "open" look of the room, instead of having counter space along wall w/toilet--consider tearing existing out and using two free standing cabinets w/glass doors on top and drawers on bottom to bracket a free standing sink...you can get them with a towel bar around the basin area...Cabinets are often more shallow than built in vanities so that would free up floor space......See MoreL H
