1 cactus, 3 succulents, 1 weed needs ID!
Comments (9)Thanks for the quick responses. Ill definitely be pulling up the weed. @zach I remember someone mentioning when I first asked about it, something about "hahnii", and I was able to locate a picture of it and it was a perfect match to the ones I have. Is that going to be similar to Dwarf Sanseveria?...See MoreCactus & succulent need an ID

Comments (13)Hey Erica and LilBit7765, thanks for your replies! I cringed upon reading "severe etiolation" and "rotting". Gosh! All along I thought my plants were healthy because they were growing! I guess I kinda assumed that growth in height, such as with us humans, is a good sign. Oops... As for the soil mix they're in, I stuck my finger in and it felt like just...soil? Compact soil? I have some follow up questions if you don't mind: 1) Would it be alright to pull them out now, while I look for ingredients for Al's gritty mix? 2) Are coconut husk cubes advisable for c/s? (just happen to have those around) 3) I noticed some pots have either one big drainage hole at the center, while others, some smaller distributed holes. Which is better?...See MoreSucculent/cactus ID help please!
Comments (7)Sarah The offsets could be removed and potted separately (they look large enough) - let them callus a bit (is that what you were referring to as give it a little bit of time ?). But as Brad said, new well-draining mix would be much better. Don't over-water the offsets - while they don't have roots, they can take the water and the stems may start rotting. Second plant is very nice... Rina...See MoreJan Nash
