The 84 - 85 inch sofa is considered seating for 3, that's 7 feet. so anything above that will give you the seating you want. 36" is the recommended minimum path width and 30" is the bare minimum. I know in person shopping is a little crazy right now, but I'd recommend looking at various sizes in a store or talking to folks you know who have a sofa size you like and find out what size they have. At a minimum, find a sofa you like and tape the dimensions on the floor. Then take existing furniture (guess that might be camp chairs since you're not moved in yet :-) )that fits in the dimensions and mock up a seating arrangement so you can try out how far legs stretch out, walking space, etc. It won't be perfect, but you'll get an idea. Low profile furniture that doesn't have big arms will look less cluttered, even if the footprint is the same as bulkier furniture. Looks like a really nice house!

Here is a video of the place, at the bottom. It is an open plan. 1. I plan on putting my work desk at that nook, near the smaller windows. 2. The patio door opens inwards to takes up part of the wall that i was intending to put my tv on. 3. I need to place my couch and tv and the desk in a way that they dont look too messy. 4. If space permits, i can put a couple of bar stools at the island and maybe one chair next to the couch. I know that is a lot of info! but please do help. @Beverly- agreed. We have been setting it up with a sofa floating in the middle (pointing down on the drawing), roughly just above where you drew a line, and making the lower half of the diagram our living room; while using the top half as an alternative walkway option. All of the doors in the room go to separate rooms, except the two on the top left, which go into the kitchen (lower of the top left doors) and dining room (upper of the left doors)- rooms which are connected to each other, so potentially the door on the upper top left could be closed off. However, I prefer not to, as it gives a more open feel with windows next to the door in both the living room and adjacent room. It's a jigsaw puzzle!

Have you moved in? If not you have no idea what the natural flow will b. houses have a way of making the flow not always what you thought it would be. I need to see the whole house floor plan to even begin to guess what the flow could be. As for furniture IMO a sofa and 2 chairs is a much better choice than any sectional for sure . Do you need to have a tV in this space that is usually where the plan starts .If you are in we need pictures of the space showing all 4 walls. Post the plan the pics every thing that relates to this dilemma here in comments DO NOT start another post on this subject.
