Help with lighting a small galley kitchen

My kitchen is 7.5' by 11' with a 3' walkway. At the other end is a 7.5' x 8' dinette with a single window. I have 9' ceilings. Currently, each space is lit by a 200 watt chandelier that hangs down 34 inches, too low in my kitchen. 200 watts was adequate when I was younger but now I need more light.

I would like to maintain the older feel of my space and like the look of traditional scavo glass semi-flush mount fixtures with three 100 watt bulbs. My question is whether the scavo glass would make things too dark. If so, could I counter that with 3,500 K LED lights?
