Water Closet - What to put in here?

Just remodeled and have this new - VERY WHITE - water closet! The rest of my house is a cool 1962 Mid Century Modern. After looking at Houzz, here are a few ideas, but would love to see if you guys have any recommendations. The white round rug is just a placeholder until I can figure it out.

IDEAS:
- All over wallpaper (Floral, waves, geometric)
- All over paint
- All over paint and stencil (dots, waves, pattern, etc)
- Gallery of framed art/photos
- Add a small vintage cabinet to keep TP and towels, with a small plant

- Add some type of floating shelves

(Don't worry, the mis-measured glass door to WC has since been replaced)

Love it! I’m a huge fan of wallpaper in bathrooms... just never, ever when there’s a shower in them. Shower = peeling = looks terrible. I’d go with a bright pastel color- mint or a deep lilac?- on the walls. Stencils will look very 90s and other wall paint techniques will detract from the simple clean lines. You don’t want to make the room too busy. You can add some visual interest with a fun mirror and a storage piece in the water closet. Perhaps a framed gallery piece or two.

love your flooring transition

with your tile, I'd probably either paint-and then add art..or just add art. I love vintage cabinets and plants too..you can do this(just mind the style of the cabinet), and add art as well, one doesn't negate the other. Perfect small space to have interesting things.

(I also add baskets/bins for reading material lol. I know, I know..TMI)

Well, this is what I've done. I put the chairs that were originally there, back. I love these chairs -- they were a CL find, and they were in front of the FP until I moved them to the "conversation area" that, yes, is cozy aka crowded, but that arrangement works better than others I've tried. Tucked away over there, they weren't as easy to admire! I think they are back in their rightful place. I still need to get a rug, which may have to be an indoor-outdoor type until our elderly dog....dies. I have the wicker chairs back over by the sofa, but that's temporary. When I find the right chairs to replace them, I will move them over to the puzzle table.

Yes, water feature. Chairs setting on mulch outside my front door wouldn’t be my style. On second thought - how often would you need to access this and how much trouble would it be to move the water feature? Do you HAVE to put something there?

Thank you so much. My husband says to just leave it as is and if our daughter starts experiencing any headaches or such then we will try Bona. My daughter is super sensitive, she has been in the ER a few times so I am especially worried for her. I am just hoping the smell goes away a few days after the last coat which should be today. He said he used to use Bona a lot (never the stain so probably just the sealer) and that he had a lot of unhappy customers. I just read the contract and it doesn’t look like that can help us. thank you so much for the feedback! I truly appreciate it!!!

That's a focal area next to your entry- it's important. I would set the whole planter up as a sort of a group 'cache pot' so I could easily switch out potted plants seasonally. I'd either bury them or use a lot of mulch as camouflage but I would absolutely make it easy to switch out. Then I'd keep several options going elsewhere like in my utility area. When the display gets tired looking just switch pots. I do this with annuals in several spots where I need good pops of annual color. It can be anything though- vary it by color, season, whim, holiday, whatever. Even if you do decide to plant it I'd use permanent background plants like ferns or liriope and still switch out a pot or two for interest. IMO it's too important a spot- if that's your home's main entry it's the most important spot. May as well make it great!

Love your floor! Personally I like really clean / simple bathrooms so I wouldn't do much. I like the idea of a small cabinet to the side of the toilet. Somewhere for extra TP, garbage can, whatever is needed. Wallpaper would be nice, but I rather like the clean simplicity of the white walls and fixtures and the cool floor tile.

I think I’d add something (could just be the small cabinet) with clean lines but in wood, to echo the wood flooring a bit. That also helps warm up the room without making it look cluttered or fussy.
