Cataract surgery follow up
Comments (9)Thanks again. I have to admit that I was kind of upset with the monovision for the first day as my eyes felt so strained by the difference. I thought I had made a real mistake by going that way rather than both for distance. Now my brain is beginning to "get it" and I am more satisfied every day with the result. Some of my friends had told me cataract surgery "Was nothing." It's not nothing, believe me. The actual procedure was a piece of cake, but learning to see differently takes time. There is a learning curve, for sure....See MoreQuestion about cataract surgery. Here we go again.
Comments (14)Thanks so much for this info. Happyladi, that is SO helpful! I like to hear of first-hand reports from someone who has actually had the ReStor lenses. On the web, I have found more comments of dissatisfied results than good ones, although I think people tend to report back more if they are unhappy. I guess millions of people have accommodated to reading glasses, so I can, too. All my life I have had to contend with my nearsightedness. My array of eyewear is mind boggling. Regular glasses, prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, readers for over the contact lenses and regular sunglasses for over the contact lenses. Plus, carrying contact lens solution, lens container and my regular glasses just in case I need then while wearing my contacts. I had to wear contacts while skiing because the goggles didn't fit over my glasses. On the other hand, when snorkeling the water magnifies things so I could see fine without glasses. Of course, I had to have glasses handy for when I got out of the water!! For those of you with good eyesight, count your blessings!...See MoreWhat a racket -- eye doctor/glasses/contacts.
Comments (20)I had cataract surgery in my right eye. Supposed to correct for distance AND astigmatism. Paid extra for a "Toric" lens to correct the astigmatism. Nope. Still need glasses to correct for astigmatism. I see extremely little difference in 'color clarity' between the operated eye and the left eye. I think I didn't NEED the surgery at all! After all of that I went to Costco for my eye exam and glasses. I have close vision correction in the right lens and no-line trifocals in the left lens. First pair of glasses needed tweaking. No questions about repeating the exam and re-making the glasses. No costs....See MoreCataract surgery, Just had my first eye done today
Comments (26)My lenses were over and above what my insurance would pay, too, in order to correct for severe astigmatism as well as my very serious myopia. My doctor was genius.....he corrected one eye just a wee bit less than perfect, which allows me to see near and far; I can read all but the tiniest print without readers and even apply my makeup! There is no way that I could be happier with the results. Even after two years, I still find myself groping for my glasses when I wake up in the morning, lol. The surgery was such a blessing for me. One thing that I had to deal with, especially for the first several months, was uncomfortable dryness. I was encouraged to use a gloppy gel at night, and a couple of different kinds of drops during the day. I still use lubricating drops a couple of times a day....See MoreVaporvac Z6-OhioRiverValley
