Wall color for dark gray couch with yellow accent pillows
Comments (7)I LOVE the couch!!!! It works SO WELL with other pieces of furniture. I can do cream, brown, taupe, AND charcoal with it. Let me Greige is a better color for it than true gray! In fact, I'd say that color you selected is PERFECT. Here is what I've done with the rest of the room. This is far from complete--it's been tweaked several times, in fact, since I took these pictures because it's a work in progress. :) But this is a general idea of what else you can do. I'm not sold on the abstract, BTW, and there's more art coming. Also, you can dress it up more or down. This is the old, horrible gray wall. And ancient carpet. LOL. And I didn't make the kids pick up the cruft of the day before taking the photos, either. This is also before the throw (yellow, gray, and white chevrons) came in that I cover the center section of the sofa with to give the younger kids something safe to sit on. I've already had to wash it once!...See Moredoes emerald green match with my grey walls and sofas?!
Comments (43)Please don't block the view of the room with the chunky table behind the couch and all of the "things" on it. I really like the chunky piece under the tv. Put it there while you look for something to replace it, you might even decide to keep it there. The open, airy feeling your room has with the cabinet under the tv is like a breath of fresh hair. If you feel you need something behind the couch, try three nice cloth covered stools which could be used for extra seating or as an occasional ottoman. Or maybe drape a large, attractive throw draped over the sofa on one side. And if you feel you must have a sofa table there, choose something the length of the sofa, no taller than the sofa and make sure it has a slim more delicate build. Do not put tall heavy items on it that will block the airy feeling, choose just one thing, like a long and low wooden bowl/ item for the top. If you do put a table behind the couch, the more stuff you put on it the more it seems to "choke" the room and it appears that you have built a wall to keep people out....See MoreGray Blue walls with warm stone accent wall?
Comments (12)We definitely prefer grays and blues. Neutral. I think there's no way around picking warmer colors to match that wall, but we already have gray upholstered mid-century-type furniture and would like to put that stamp here too if possible. We had planned to use a greige/gray, beige, slate blue color palette, but I was mostly curious if that blue would be too off-putting in this stone wall dining room....See MoreAccent walls/coordinating colors for Accessible Beige in Bay home?
Comments (3)I saw a video on Pottery Barn's website that made me think of your question. PB has a curated Sherwin-Williams line that includes both Accessible Beige and Extra White, so I thought that might serve as a good starting place for you for inspiration.
