What are other views of this room, to see what kind of furniture you have and what would look good. What style are you looking for? I would also like to recommend hiding all the cords for that TV maybe getting a nice entertainment stand to place underneath it. Also is there a reason it's so far off to one side? I suppose seeing photos from other angles might help answer that question it just seems odd.

Ooo I like the FB tallow quite a bit, a little creamier. But i couldnt really judtify the price, let alone have the patience fir delivery, but Home Depot had a formula for imitating that I will get a sample of. Here is an old picture of the place before we added anything and even finished the siding. As you can see it looks more like a hunting shack than a romantic candlelit cabin, and Very small! It has come along way from here but I've just sealed the knots in the pine so it looks a little silly or I would take new pic.

Thanks for all these nice comments. I appreciate all of them. I like the suggestions of using some bolder FL colors in areas that are smaller and easy to change out, like maybe the guest bath downstairs, etc. Any great neutral colors floating around? I had a thought of painting the fireplace a full strength color all the way up to the ceiling, and then cutting the color in half above the builts ins surrounding it. Bad idea? Besides variations on beige, is there any other great neutral green that isn't too drab that people are loving? Also, I have a chair rail all the way around both living and dining, thinking I could mutlitone in those rooms to being in some darker colors on the bottom half, then lighter up top? I love puttys, greens, blues, greys. No beige.

Why 4' of river rock around the house? IME most folks in areas with a decent amount of rainfall regret using rock mulch and it's a PIA to remove. It will have dust, leaves, twigs, seeds, etc. blow in and weeds will sprout just like in shredded bark mulch, but it is more difficult to remove weeds from rocks, especially since most rock has landscape cloth under it to prevent it from sinking into the soil. So either you hand weed with difficulty or you have to use an herbicide sprayed on the rocks regularly to prevent weeds becoming established. I would recommend bark mulch without landscape fabric since I find maintenance far easier. Like Yardvaark, I would not plan to use a large evergreen in the front, and instead place it in the back yard where it is visible from windows that in winter you can see it from such as one over the kitchen sink or an office window. In the front I would make the groundcover evergreen and perhaps add another short shrub with winter interest such as one of the shorter red-twigged dogwoods or some evergreen shrubs behind the multi-trunked tree to provide interest in winter since it's about half the year for you. Clumps of early flowering bulbs in the groundcover would be nice also. Look for small trees/large tree-form shrubs for the front trees that have multiple seasons of interest, such as spring flowers and fall foliage color or nice winter appearance.

Hi Annette Galloway- So sorry about your flood! Your room is lovely and a beautiful rug will enhance its look. $2000 is a lot of money and for that amount you should be getting a quality hand made Oriental rug that you have seen in person. These days you can get a great deal on a hand knotted Persian rug and you can get one in the size you need and the colors you want- ivory, tan, beige, brown, blues, etc for the money you want to spend. I would suggest first educating yourself on Oriental carpets, the types and how they are made and what the marks of quality are. Then go to a bunch of stores and be very polite and ask lots of questions. Say you are in the market but first you need to educate yourself before you buy anything because this is a big purchase for you. Don’t even bring your credit card so you won’t be tempted. Take a few months at least to learn in your mind and educate your eye and your hand. Then you can be ready to spend. If you have a very trustworthy friend who grew up in a culture with these carpets that you can take with you when you go shopping that is great, if not you can go by yourself. hi first of all would like to thank you for any help you can give us and sorry about the mess..As you walk in my front door you are looking at my baby son Micky Mouse picture..so the TV is in the middle of the wall where my sofa is..as in picture 3..so as you walk in and sit down on my sofa you are facing my TV that why TV is where its at.. how i could change the TV and but it on the wall on the right in picture 6.. and move my fish tank and sofa so as you walk in my house you pass in front of my TV.. But i think the front door would hit the TV as you can see below...im up for ideas..when my wife bought the house she told them to paint it one color as you can see..mmmm.so this is a 4 bedroom with 2 bathrooms all one color..so I need colors

about to buy this $1500 new Leather sofa so starting fresh. That will fit from inside my front door along the window and i need to move my fish tank...my floors are very cheap looking..but that will take a.lot of money..right now i need PAINT
