Comments (4)It looks beautiful Jules! We hope you'll share photos once the project is completed. With the other decisions you've made you have a lot of options for back splashes....See MoreIronsbridge and Berwyn?
Comments (10)Just getting home from a long day at work... Many thanks for your feedback. I appreciate your ideas. I agree that the one countertop style will be better, and will likely go with the Ironsbridge. Re the apps: We are buying a new cooktop for the island. The fridge and dishwasher are newer. May or may not replace the double oven in the near future. We are keeping the cabinets as they are--just repainting them, changing the cabinet hardware. We can't afford to do a major remodel/layout change at this time. We have lived in our home for over 20 years--it was quite new when we bought it) and the layout has worked well for us, although I understand it is good to have an open mind and consider other ideas. I hear what you are saying about the island/width of kitchen, but it has functioned well for us and acts as a nice buffet when guests come for parties and I hang out there a lot on my computer as well. Not sure how a peninsula would work better but would be curious to see where that would be placed, and what it would allow. We have doors to our deck in the kitchen, and in front of that a table and four chairs (will definitely be updating those as well, from a rectangular table to a round one, to provide better flow.) You are correct that the width of the kitchen is about 14 feet. I will attach a layout that was created by someone who gave us a bid on redoing the cabinets. Thanks again....See MoreWall color - natural tan or accessible beige?
Comments (25)Totally understand the dilemma of trim that “came With the house” repainting trim is expensive If the color on the walls in the pic above the latte pic is natural tan, i don’t mind it. But I do see some green undertones in the natural tan swatch which is why it might be making your trim look yellowish. On the wall in that pic though i see what you mean by bluish dirty gray. I don’t dislike the color, but i see how it’s not what you were going for. By cut it, i mean make it 60%. Tell the Sherwin will people and they‘ll know exactly what you mean. Decreasing the darkness/depth will increase the light reflective value. Accessible beige at full “strength“ will be dark like the latte. You want half strength or 60% accessible beige. Show them the depth of natural tan and tell them you want accessible beige at that depth. they will know better than me what percentage will get you the same depth. They do it for me all of the time. They can make a little 4 dollar can for you to try. Also, off the top of my head, i think sherwin Williams worldly Gray might look nice. Try grab the Sample card of that while you’re in there. It’s a really really pretty color and the right depth....See MoreBacksplash Suggestions
