LL Core Lux Ultra Engineered Vinyl Plank

Does anyone have experience with this flooring? It's 8mm thick and .07mm veneer layer thickness. It's $3.79 sf. excluding installation. I'm torn between something like this and engineered hardwood. It's for a large living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway. No pets or kids, and I'm very careful. Any input would be appreciated!

I don't know much about LL's products. I do know about the class action lawsuit they settled for $36million based on their laminate flooring. I gotta be honest, I only read the headline about the settlement, so just putting that out there. I did spend hours reading up on the suit when the story broke. So there is that, and I don't know your market but @ $3.79 you are in the ballpark of most name brand LVP products. Don't get me wrong, each brand has a lower end, mid-range, and high end. My clients are mostly in the mid-range which is right where you are at with the $3.79. And that's Armstong, Mohawk, Mannington, and my personal favorite US Floors COREtec.

I am new to the Houzz world, so not really sure how this works. But I have don't tons of research on the LVP flooring, and for some reason enjoy doing the homework on products. So if you have any questions, and can't find someone more qualified then I am, please feel free to reach out.

Our flooring was installed by whomever the builder used for installation. I have a couple of minor scratches, but they were likely caused by something my 5 year old daughter dragged. We have Gemcore Onyx Huntington. We did the same - felt pads under all furniture and chairs. It’s very hard to tell when there is a scratch due to the texture. We do have some buckling and I’m 100% convinced it’s either installation error or a result of the new construction house settling. The buckling is isolated in areas and doesn’t seem to have processed over almost a full year. They’re coming out to assess Wednesday. We do love the floors and have them all throughout the house. They are low maintenance and super easy to clean. It’s a bit deceiving because you can’t tell where dirt is unless it’s a very light piece of something, like paper.

I vote for floating, click, wood look, luxury vinyl plank. I especially like the style with knots and chatter marks. Lay it throughout the whole house, on the diagonal, with no thresh holds. That's what I did. I can clean the entire house in approximately five minutes with an electric leaf blower. Porcelain tile is more durable however it is more expensive to buy, more expensive to install, and more expensive to uninstall. Also, some tile is extremely slippery when wet whereas wood grain LVP is not slippery at all. Five years later I am happier than ever I chose grey driftwood luxury vinyl plank for a house with dogs, kids, beach sand, and lots of wet feet. If the house gets inundated from storm surge and ocean water gets inside, I can unclick the LVP, clean and dry the subfloor, and then reinstall the same LVP and it will look as good as new.

Does it really matter where the questions are asked, as long as the right people answer? But if you need an answer, my money is on the computer mixing up core lux, with Electrolux.
