I'm going to keep working on my cross stitch. Some day I'll get tired of it and start quilting again. :)

We are snowed in! And the painter is here for the basement. It's coming!

Before Christmas, I had made the string parts of String X and put them aside. I pulled them out yesterday and have been putting the side triangles on and trimming to size. I will have to make a few more string sections though.

Linda, Quick and easy quilts are usually my go to patterns. I get bored so quickly that quilt alongs usually end up as lap quilts. I really need to make a serious effort to get a few larger tops made and complete them into quilts for some of my older grandchildren. Sometimes I cheat and just add wider or more borders to get a larger size. lol

This week-end I'm still working on the Elephant. There are six sections and I'm working on #4

Not quilting, but I did finish the 16 centerpieces made with yoyo flowers for my mom's 90th birthdy party on Sunday. Today I fused applique dogs onto blocks for her - 48 of them! Good for her - I hate applique, but Mom is up for the challenge!

We leave on Monday for Mexico for 6-8 weeks, so no quilting in my near future.

I'm working on my Cowboy quilt for the DH. It's made from a panel that's cut up, sashed and re-sashed. I had a photo, but no pattern. Someone offered to make me a pattern on EQ, so I tried to use it, but none of the measurements are correct. So far, I've had to remake every section at least once and sometimes three times. I finally got the middle section to fit correctly, but it didn't fit the side sections, so I have to re-do the sashing on the center section again for the umpteenth time.

My piecing has improved, though. There are many lessons to be learned here. Mr. Seamripper has been very busy at my house.

I hope that once I get the center and sides together, the other sections will be easier. I'll dust off my grade-school fractions and give them a workout before I start on the final two sections.

Yeah, finished the Bonnie Hunter quilt top this week, and pieced the backing this morning. Just waiting for the longarm lady to have a slot.

My math stinks, and I ended up with a lot of extra blocks. Solution: make more blocks and a baby quilt! That top is done, too, and ready to quilt.

Also back to my smocking and almost done with a CG. So my sewing room is finally looking a bit better.

I'm fm quilting feather a design in the dark half of the log cabin blocks. Why do I do this to myself??

Yes! I am making my first cuts for my Madeline inspired quilt this weekend! I think I will be adjusting the size from my original plan; I have three yards to cut up before I can start laying it out.

I've been wandering around a bit but managed a stop at a quilt store near husband's doctor appointment. Found more 30s fabrics for my 6" sampler. He thinks I went to the grocery store! HA!

Keep them in a grocery sack and he will never know.
