Need Help w Kitchen Colors
Comments (3)I had a similar problem in my back bedroom. I pained it what I thought was pinky beige and it ended up looking pepto bismol pink once it was covering the whole wall. So I tried to neutralize it. Green was recommended as a color to use in the room to look good with it instead of blue which I had been using, which only highlighted it more. BUT, although I had some plants in the room and a green headboard on the bed, the BEST thing I did to "neutralize" the pink was to embrace it and use SIMILAR colors, like yellow, brown, maroon, pink, red, terra cotta. So take whichever color you like the best, the green or the orange, and then fill your kitchen with shades of those colors you DO like. You can find great palette Web sites online to play around with these possibilities. Embrace the color you like and that will hide the tone of that color in your kitchen that you don't like. As for the other color you don't like, it will now have more competition. For some reason, my bedroom photos aren't showing on my photo site so I can't post pics to illustrate. But that's advice I got here a couple of years ago and it worked....See MoreNeed help for kitchen color scheme
Comments (0)Good day. My parents decided to liven up the kitchen, but are having a hard time deciding on color schemes. Initially, they decided an apple green paint as a "backsplash" (we didn't have budget for an actual fancy backsplash) but scrapped that idea when my father watched Brother vs. Brother on HGTV and they pointed out the ugliness of the wall color (green!) in the kitchen on one episode. So I came in here to ask for your help. Here are pictures of our current kitchen: Can someone suggest any possible color schemes? It will be very much appreciated. Thank you!...See MoreNeed help with kitchen colors!
Comments (10)I would make every surface that has not been fixed in stone (except the floor) white or light. The light colors will reflect back on the gray cabinets making them look light gray. Bring in wood where you can to warm up the space. Upper cabinets get less wear than lower - especially if you have a nice handle on the door that keeps people from touching them. You might consider white uppers down the road if the gray is still bothering you once the whole kitchen is done. It can be worrisome when only some parts of the kitchen are done and the whole has not come together....See MoreNeed help with kitchen color combos
Comments (3)Not sure but I can’t edit my other comment so. Why not think just the island done with soapstone counter and all the cabinets a nice neutral . Choosing cabinet color is also dependant on many things . Or choose all the same counters and do just the island cabinets in that color you like. IMO a designer might be a good choice to avoid mistakes. Building a house is a daunting task with all the decisions that need to be made some help is usually a good idea. I also would strongly reccommend a kitchen designer from the beginning not your architect but an actual KD...See Moreirismead
