What's with the fireplace??? Is it real or can it be moved?

Here are pictures of the rest of the room. Yes the fireplace can be moved. The last owners put a lot of random light fixtures in different places.

We need some dimensions of your space and the size of your sofas to provide suggestions.

The previous owners likely had that chandelier in the center placed over an entry table. Do you want to reconsider that option?

I’d consider this arrangement, with colorful art pieces surrounding your fireplace, with an additional chair on the right, and without the table on the left under the window.

It’s difficult to understand the perspective in this shot. Is the chandiler in line with the front door? Is there space to place your dining table centered under it? Can you draw out your floorplan with measurements?

@Beverly the larger sofa is 7ft long and 3 ft wife and the smaller sofa is 5 ft long and 3ft wide. I measured the room and put the picture below. I really like the table under the chandelier idea. I also put a picture of what it looks like right now when you walk in the door.

Do you have a budget for purchasing a few things? Since you removed the TV, I would move the fireplace (is it functioning electric or just the mantel against the wall?) and place the large sofa on that wall. Leave the smaller sofa where it is, forming an L seating area. Put the fireplace between the door and window. Get a wonderful large, colorful piece of art for over the sofa and another over the fireplace. If you can get a different rug with colors that complement the art (or art to complement the rug) with some pillows with color. You could add draperies (which should come to the floor) in a colorful print or solid complementary color to go with the rest. Hopefully, some photoshoppers will do some mock-ups for you.

Yes that is the dining room. I have the table but I’m trying to figure out what color to paint it so I can later find some chairs to go with it

I think the two facing couches is a tight fit. I would orient the seating with the couch against the TV wall and two chairs facing it.

Do you really need two couches?

It looks like the expanse is meant to be three spaces: LR, DR, and entry. Place whichever sofa fits and also allows passage to the back door, so that it faces the fireplace. This will mark off the LR. And use the DR table to do the same in that space.

Yes to drapes that go to the floor. And right now they are hung too high. As are the pics facing the front door.

Move the fireplace out of the room. It's not helping with anything.

You could try the longer sofa as you have it against the wall, and the shorter sofa facing the fireplace so you have an "L" configuration, with an end table between them. That would delineate the entry from the seating area, and also give you more walkwak space to the secondary doorway.

Be careful about what you select for your walls and how high you mount them. Multiple groupings of items are hung close together so they read as one.

I placed an entry table in the center and placed your black hutch on the wall behind the table instead of the dining room.

A dangling chandelier can become a flush or semi flush

I don't love the vacuous middle....using larger rugs helps to warm and define spaces. We tend not to use spaces with no tv: ) and a smart tv can be ART!! with an easy app on your phone from You Tube. It need not be a big black hole on the wall.

Lighting can even be moved - no need to have it be a dictator, usually.
