Small entry with front door that opens into a wall 4 ft away

We are doing some remodeling on a 1950 (NOT 1950s but.....1950) traditional house. The feature that I want to address is a wall across from the front entry door. When you walk in the door, the living room is to your left (behind photographer in photo). To the right is a coat closet (which we will make more of a doorless nook, with a bench and storage for boots under it, and hooks for coats). As you walk in, the front door swings to the right towards the closet. Right in front of you would be a full wall, that cannot be removed. It measures at about 4 feet from the opening of the door. You can just see the end of the wall to the far left in the photo.

We will be replacing the door with one that is more in keeping with the 1950 traditional style of the house. It will be a quarter light door. Any ideas on decorating around the wall? There is, obviously, no room for furniture.
