Poll:Annuals or Perennials? Which do you prefer for your Balcony?
Comments (1)Suggestion, in zone 8 you have options for so many perennials. You can plant it once and you're done -- other than care or maintenance. Enjoy....See MorePoll:If cost wasn't an issue which cabinet paint would you choose
Comments (13)FPE. Well...you DID ask for the best...;-)! "Be careful what you wish for..." Yes, it's pricey. I've had my hands in it, sampled it, and therefore used it @ home. It IS NOT normal paint. * We're talkin' "Four Seasons Maui" vs. the Holiday-Inn kinda difference...except FPE is a little cheaper...;-) (We were lucky enough to stay @ the Four Seasons last June) * Your paint cost will increase SOME. So what? The added value, durability, & appearance will outweigh a few $$'s. * Just as proof...my setup for my downstairs bath...my fave C2-One primer, and the Euroqt. of FPE Matte, which cost $45 delivered. Walls were washed with powdered Dirtex. Faron...See MorePoll - Which property would you buy?
Comments (26)Keep looking, the way you describe the lake house the main thing is that it is on the lake, the curb appeal and lots of other things don't appeal to you. Also, being too close to the lake, what about heavy rains etc, any chance of it encroaching on your home, look at 100 yr flood maps at FEMA.org. Maybe you need a lake house with a bit more property so you have the best of both worlds. I would prefer a lake house set further back than that....See MorePoll: Which do you like better?
Comments (18)Thank you! I am so glad that everyone is choosing the brass! I liked it, but I was worried that it would make our kitchen look "dated", and in an bad way, not a good way. Bronwynsmom, I totally know what you are saying, and that's one of my big worries too. Yes, it looks pretty when it's on one drawer, but what is it going to look like when there are 23 of them throughout the kitchen. We will definitely keep your suggestion in mind when we have our countertop installed if we are finding that the brass is just too much. In the meantime, I think I'm going to look up how to age brass (I do think it would look better if the brass plates were at least more uniform), and keep my eye out for more faceted knobs!...See Moregracie01 zone5 SW of Chicago
