I Tunes Help Appreciated

is anyone here well versed in Itunes? My computer had some files deleted during a cleanup attempt and one of them was 'banjour", which apparently is needed to run Itunes. the error message keeps telling me to uninstall Itunes and then re-install. All the googling I've done makes this sound logical. I'd rather just re-install this "banjour", but can't seem to figure out how. Anyone have any advice? I'm afraid that if I delete Itunes from my computer, I will lose all my music. I have many hundreds of songs, all ones that I have paid for.

I've never heard of anything named "banjour" having anything to do with iTunes. I just took a look through the iTunes program files and didn't see anything by that name.

Every so often iTunes notifies my computer that there is an update to the program, and when I update, I've never lost any of my music. Besides, the music files don't reside within the iTunes program - they're on my hard drive in the Music folder. And, once you've paid for music through iTunes, you always "own" the music and can download it again.

Oh, I have two separate iTunes libraries - one each for different devices that have different capacities and, therefore, a different selection of music. Neither has ever been adversely affected by updating iTunes.

Yes, I know you're talking about completely deleting, not updating iTunes. I suggest you look at the files on your hard drive -- you should see that your music files are not within the program files for iTunes.

Thanks for all the replies. I am learning something new every day. For example, the day I wrote this, I changed the nutrients to EC 2.5 and all of the roots today are completely brown. What you see hanging from the basket up in the picture are completely gone. So here is what I gather from all of you. I'll lower the EC, probably start at 1.8 going down. From what I read and my recent experience, I'll try to figure out a way to start easy on the nutrients, e.g. when I flush a tank I can go half strength or less and keep going day by day until I reach my setpoint. Hopefully that won't stress the roots. Regarding aereation, I'll leave it as it is. I also thought that an ebb and flow gets air when drained. I just need to watch the temp of the reservoir. Not much I can do on this one, but might explain nutrient deficiencies if I ever get one. Rosemary going to the ground. I might create another setup running on a separate pump and run it a bit dry. In the meantime, I'll get this little guy to the soil. It'll do better. Regarding the algae question, I don't know as they don't have time to grow. The reservoir gets cleaned every two weeks, sprayed with bleach and flushed. The containers (clear Sterilite type) are painted black and also bleached once a month. After some experimentation, I found this to be the best setup I could come up with. All the hoses allow me a quick disconnect and a partial shutdown for cleaning and sterilizing. I can grow by adding more containers and pumps easily. The only thing I am working right now is a controller for the setup. I currently have a programmable timer, but trying to build a smart controller that will have a light sensor, a temperature sensor and, maybe, a humidity sensor. This way I can adjust the watering for different containers using the same reservoir. Thanks all for the feedback! I have had repeated problems each time ITunes updates. I've had to uninstall ITunes completely from my PC and reinstall. If you go to the Apple Forums, that is the solution. I have to do it again as ITunes just had another update and I can't access my music from my IPhone or IPad. It has been a big headache and I don't understand why it keeps happening. I bought an IPod and ITunes came with it. I love ITunes and have not activated WMP since. I have never used sync, but have had a problem with some songs. I have never researched it but I think it has got something to do with the fact I don't have the CDs for the problem songs. Maybe ITunes is particular about the legal aspects. I have CD's for 98% of my songs and I can edit those and convert them to MP3s with no problem. The ones that had been copied are the problem. I don't use Libraries, didn't like those at all. I put a folder on the desktop like the old system used. BTW; The songs I had a problem were not copied by me. I bought a radio that was a return and someone had left the copied CD in it. Lots and lots of songs on it. It was titled "Mom's Songs" and they were mostly oldies.

Both phones will play MP3s. I play MP3s through iTunes all the time. The key difference between these phones is if you download music from the iTunes Music Store (as about 80% of people who download music legally do). If you do, the iTunes phone is the only one which will play that music directly because it is copy-protected. The other phone will require you to convert the iTunes music to MP3 (not a trivial task).

I’ve never heard of ‘banjour’ either, but reading the link Fun provided, it sounds like bonjour is associated with Windows. I’m an Apple user and never have any problem with iTunes, just perform the updates. So from the looks of it, your uninstalling and re-installing iTunes shouldn’t be a problem. You'll Probably have to sign into your iTunes account again, so make sure you remember your credentials.

Bonjour (French for Hello) is an Apple program that works with its hardware and software. Why do you think that you know better than to follow Apple's prefab suggestion to "uninstall Itunes and reinstall it"? Because there could be different versions of Bonjour for different versions of Itunes, following their advice is probably best. Reinstalling Itunes will also install the right version of Bonjour.

Deleting and reinstalling Itunes will not do a thing to your music collection, it will remain where it untouched. And if were to be altered (which it won't), Apple has a record of what you paid for and previously purchased songs can be downloaded again anyway. That's typically what people do when they buy a new PC, for example. The same is true, in case it matters to others, for songs purchased from Amazon.
