You have lovely things. Yes- as you mentioned, the chair in a neutral color would be amazing. Some end tables in cherry would work beautifully with your rug/ entire room. Optional- you can get an additional throw pillow that's already on your sofa for the new chair. It will "tie" the whole look together. Have fun and good luck.

The wall color is SW Ramie. The chair was my grandmothers, and it is just sort of a placeholder right now. I have been searching for new chairs. I would really like to get 2 chairs, but I am unsure how to arrange everything. I would also like to get a new rug--I've been coveting a real hand-knotted forever. The current rug is very nice, 100% wool Couristan machine woven. It is in the same line as My3dog's lovely living room rug. They have been selling this line of rugs in the last year at Tuesday morning for less than half price. It doesn't come off quite as pale in person. I want to eventually move it into my bedroom, where it will be perfect. Does anyone have recommendations for a rug? What color scheme? I really like some of the orientals that are a bit more modern without a really tight or busy pattern. Something maybe like this: This rug is from Williams Sonoma home, and is way out of my price range at over $2K. Is it possible to get a hand-knotted for around $1K? I need at least an 8x10.

Thanks, everyone. The seller of the first chairs hasn't responded yet, but I just realized that she's an hour away (even though the ad is listed in my county). She's very close to my DD though so if she responds I'll ask my DD to look at them for me. Now that I'm home, I think they will fit in the space, unless they're much larger than they appear in the picture. judithva - thanks so much for posting the picture of your gorgeous living room and weighing in on the comfort factor. I'm going to have to google Charles Faudree tonight - thanks so much for the tip! lindanj - it is the RH large library media unit. I don't think you could easily use the three pieces separately without some modification. The crown molding at the top fits together like a puzzle and the interior sides are finished like the exterior. It's made to bolt together. I've restyled the shelves for a more uniform look since the picture was taken, based on a lot of great advice given by fellow gardenwebbers. I need to post progress pics and get some more feedback!

I love your inspiration room! I think it will be great in your room. Here are two other unasked for suggestions. I would never darken your beautiful floors, and I would remove those blinds, especially if you are doing white walls. Those kinds of blinds might work in some very rustic spaces but not in a beautiful home such as yours.
