With all that dark furniture I wonder if dark flooring would be a good idea, although I don't know how well dark furniture and a light floor would go together. You could always cover a large portion of the floor with a beautiful Oriental rug with colors that you love and then pull your bedding, pillow and drape colors from that. You could still have a white duvet and focus the color on the pillows. You could choose a soft, pale green for the walls and take that as your inspiration for rugs, drapes, etc. I do think some of these items should have patterns with added colors such as yellow, pale blue, green and a touch of pink or terracotta to add warmth. I would look for pictures on houzz and elsewhere for traditional bedrooms and that should give you wealth of ideas.

If they are not on the same wall, and expresso may work. If they will be close to each other, I don't recommend trying to find a match as it will be noticeable that they aren't from the same maker. Lighter wood is not something I would recommend either as it won't work with your existing furniture. Painted finishes are forgiving in coordinating with existing wooden pieces. I hope that helps. The room also has the original, HUGE, beautiful built in mirror that is built into the wall with ornate wood. I feel like it's time to strip and re stain this as well, so again, what color should I use? It gets even worse! we had to pull the old crap trim and are replacing it. My hubby purchased beautiful trim that is white. Too much going on. Skip the pallet ceiling. The mirror is the focal point. Don't need (or want!) anything else. Make it easy on yourself & do a painted drywall (or plaster) ceiling. For firespread resistance, you need drywall under the pallet boards anyway.
