Lots of sun & a neutral base ( floors & furniture) to work with, almost any color would work. What colors are you drawn to? My bedroom is similar & I had it painted in a medium toned Cappuccino color, not very trendy but my furniture it much lighter than yours & the contrast looks good plus it gives the room a rich restful look. Probably not an option for you. How about a soft blue or green ? Those colors look good in bedrooms, I agree gray not a good idea.

Thank you K Laurence -- I'm drawn to whatever looks pretty, I just cannot mesh them together! haha . Soft blue seems nice as long as it doesn't look like a baby boy's room. Any suggestions about paint colors that you know?

What color is your trim and wainscot? What colors are in the rest of your home and what are you drawn too? Planning any rug under bed?

It depends on how your u feel about you bedroom. If the best part of the day is to be awakened by sunshine and invigorated, I would paint a light tone of your fave color.

if you are more like me, that consider the room a retreat, a cocoon, a place to recover, then I’d paint a dark version of your fave color. The objective is to create a mood.

one last thing to consider is mixing darks with lights. Don’t know what your floors are, but if they’re dark, And your furniture is dark, a light paint tone would have a balancing effect. IOW, you don’t want light everything or it will have a blinding effect. Just like you don’t want dark everything, it might be depressing, oppressing.

Start with the bedding - paint color can be pulled from it, if it is colorful. If it is solid and neutral you have many options. Perhaps you should post once the floors are done so we have the basics to work with.

Nothing is done anywhere yet in the house. I love glam and traditional I'm finding. The designer told me to paint the wainscoting and door molding and doors the same color bright white. Wainscoting extends to hall and home office. Floors are not stained yet; was waiting for some input...

The contractor wants me to choose the paint this weekend after they finish sanding floors. Looking for beautiful bedding that has cream, ivory, pale green or blue right now. Help....

With your bedroom set, dark floor color and white wainscoting, I think some shade of green blue would look nice. Do a search on Houzz or even Pinterest with your parameters. You will see some nice looks!

With all that dark furniture I wonder if dark flooring would be a good idea, although I don't know how well dark furniture and a light floor would go together. You could always cover a large portion of the floor with a beautiful Oriental rug with colors that you love and then pull your bedding, pillow and drape colors from that. You could still have a white duvet and focus the color on the pillows. You could choose a soft, pale green for the walls and take that as your inspiration for rugs, drapes, etc. I do think some of these items should have patterns with added colors such as yellow, pale blue, green and a touch of pink or terracotta to add warmth. I would look for pictures on houzz and elsewhere for traditional bedrooms and that should give you wealth of ideas.

Have you considered Benjamin Moore “quiet moments “? ... leans blue gray with a hint of green, not baby blue at all. Sophisticated I think, but whatever, try a sample of any color in your room first.

If you're looking for cream, ivory, blue, and green, try Pottery Barn. I'm a light blue and green person and they usually have something in that color scheme. I think an all white comforter or quilt would be fine, but I'd select something with a texture or pattern.
