Decor ideas living room

Recently bought new reclining furniture. I need ideas on wall decor for over sofa and I would like new window treatments and need something to block afternoon sun. I also can't decide on end tables. We do not have room for a coffee table. I like reclaimed look so thinking something along those lines maybe be in a grayish brown. Just bought a cute fun accent table for one end but that can be moved easily. I also need wall decor for over sofa and on other wall that currently has a big round metal candle holder. Thought about a barn door possibly for that wall or maybe a small console table with a mirror. I also thinking maybe floor lamps or new table lamps. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I would look for a large, colorful accent rug. The furniture should be pulled out from the walls, and the feet of the furniture (at least the front feet) should be on the rug. That would be a good place to start

Also, are you open to changing the drapes? The brown drapes with the brown furniture feels a little 'blah'

You have a nice space, lots of lights, i don’t blame you for not getting rid of those couches, i have the same ones (without the recliner) in my livingroom and they are so comfy, saddly i dont have any recommendations for you as im having the same dilemma as i don’t know how to decorate my living room, i also want a big rug but i want it big, cream color and fluffy but with 2 kids and a chihuahua i dont know if i want to deal with the mess, snacks all over the pretty rug, my pet pee...sigh

Before adding art to the walls you might want to finish getting your furniture. It seems that you especially need tables/lamps. Overhead fixtures are the worst for creating harshness and making everything and everyone look bad. Are you adding chairs? Have you considered a more colorful rug? Once these things have been determined it is time to think of art, You should not just go out and buy stuff for the walls, Take it slowly and wait till you see things that you love or have meaning. The decor can be things other than " pictures". It can be plates, baskets, funky objects, wreaths, etc.

Yes I just have those up until I find something I like also going to do black curtain rod and finials. Have to wait on rug as we just had hardwoods refinished and they suggested to wait a couple of months before putting an area rug down.

Check Hobby Lobby, At Home and HomeGoods for large gallery art for over the couch. Hang the bottom no more than 6" from the top of the couch!
