A couple old pictures. I never cease to be amazed at the craftsmanship in nature.

A hornets nest
And what the Blue jays did to it after several killing frosts. The architecture is exquisite.

Glenda, do you or anyone you know have a photo software program such as Paint Shop Pro? It can be relatively inexpensive on sale ($15-25), compared to the high end programs, especially if it isn't the latest edition. The date could easily and quickly be cloned out of your photo. My husband frequently takes tilted photos, and I also love the tool that corrects that within a few seconds, with just a couple of clicks. (ETA: Of course the program does a lot of other photo tasks, too!)

A walkway along the edge of the ocean on the island of Madeira, the first picture shows the scale as a couple narrowly avoid the spray from a medium sized wave. the second picture show one of the largest waves during the 5 minutes our tour spent there. I wonder why the tour driver didn't want us to try to walk the walkway.

A 15 Euro Thai Salad is about $18.25 US. We were unable to locate any place that took US dollars. Euros or credit cards and most of these places were on the beach and credit cards just didn't work.

jim....that's expensive! Did you eat at touristy places? In Ubud we had a white table cloth, white cloth napkins--fancy dinner for 2 w/ a little anise after dinner drink = $6 total We paid in rupees.

We were on a morning tour. We did not eat local, we returned to the ship. Free (in a way).

Lgmd.....I had one of those paper hornet nests hanging in my classroom for many years. It was just hanging from a small branch with the air conditioner blowing on it, yet it stayed in tact all those years. Amazing. Birds probably use the paper for nests.Thanks for the pic.

LOL, thanks, Nicole. Yes, she is an amazing artist. You should see her stuff now! She did a painting of an eagle that you would swear you could reach out and touch it live!! Her attention to details is wonderful. She did my painting from a photo that I emailed to her. And that was her first attempt at oil painting. Prior she had done almost exclusive drawing, sometimes using colored pencils. She is an engineer by trade.

Moni, I love your picture. Can you imagine the talent it takes to do something like that? Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing that one.
